maen all! yeah! the nectar birds and insects must love these guys. does oz have hummingbirds? i know they cross large bodies of water. our ruby throats winter mostly in cuba and other carribean islands. i would think the asian birds would island hop down under.

maen all! i googled australian hummingbirds and found that there are no endemic hummers in oz...what they do have in abundance are "honeyeaters" which range in size from sparrows to pigeons...the few pictured did have that slender curved bill/beak like a hummer for nectar feeding. most are too large to hover but a few do.
