Anyone know of a car ferry that will take people up or down the Mississipi for a tour and then offload them with their vehicles so they can continue on their way? (Rather like the Amtrak car train?)

Good mAen to all. That last River Boat on the Cumberland River stopped in the little town where I live. It would stop and locals would have booths set up to sell handmade crafts. Often the tourists would walk into town for their lunch. It was a great loss for our little "burg". I More...

Your right DanM, there are still a lot of these doing trips on the Murray River, its a relaxing way to travel.

Long, long ago my dear old Dad converted some of the Murray River Paddleboats from steam to diesel. Perhaps not as romantic, but a lot more efficient, as they were still used for cargo then.

I'd like to do a Murray River trip one day!
