I'm ready...bags packed...let's go. beats the rain we've had for over a month. (2 days of sun in about 40+ days)

IT'S STILL SNOWING! There hasn't been much more accumulation, though. We only have snow every five or six years, so this is a big deal.

I'm glad I didn't bother to time myself...it would have been brutal. Ruby, it's snowing here too! I don't think we are going to get enough to keep the kiddos home from school. Their last day of school is already moved up a week because of missed snow days. I'm ready for a warm up so I can ride my motorcycle!

Do most people do these hard ones without any help? Sometimes I can; sometimes I just can't wade through the whole thing without it. Some really impressive times!

9.08 faster than medium...my best time around 7.30 I post the possibilities...first all the 1's then all the 2's etc..sometimes a number will 'fall out' so that you know that this is allocated rather than just a possibility

Yon, do you put in the possibilities for each square? I think that the hards can always be solved using the basic techniques (without x-wings, fc's, etc.). I try to do the hards without typing possibilies. It takes me forever (usually about 30 min.), but it's a good mental challenge for a More...

Yon, I cheat like a sun of a, well you know. If I figure out most, but need a little boost to finish, maybe one number or two, with my intellect, I concider that a win. :)

Thanks for the tips. I do use the possibilities, but try to limit only using them to 2 numbers (i.e. only use them when the same two #s can be in the same two spots). Maybe that's tripping me up. Sigh. Will keep working on it.

maen all! nice network of 4x4 roads. also great looking beach to run around in one's birthday suit. found puzzle to be straight forward. maybe i'll try the tough for a change since i'm on a roll.

that particular part of NZ you would need to be a mountain goat to enjoy the walk. the photo doesnt really reflect how steep and rocky it was. we were on an argo (sp?) vehicle tour.

As your first step, are you going through rows and columns to fill in 3rd numbers where possible? Todays puzzle had so many of those, I was then able to complete several rows, columns and boxes before needing to use possibilities.

Maen all - looks beautiful and peaceful - it would be interesting to know exactly where about this is - Aus/NZ? Which coast? After seeing the pics I love to look them up on a map. Nice way to learn about other parts of the world.

To Lucy from Cape Town - the Otago peninsula is on the south eastern coast of the south island of NZ. It's beautiful, unspoilt natural coastline. Hi Elizabeth - thanks for the info - looks wonderful! I have family living in Oz and next time I go across to visit them I am going to make a plan to visit NZ as well. Having been promising myself this for a long time
