Cami, you were almost there with Proteus! The waratah belongs to the Proteaceae family which has relatives in south africa (the proteas), so it may look familiar to lots of folk.They have now been raised for cutflowers in lots of other countries.

Beautiful flowers. Eden is on the east coast half way between Sydney and Melbourne. It is a small town - about 4000 residents - situated in what is called The Saphire Coast. A really beautiful place. We have a holiday place there and spend a time there when we can.

Oh! What pretty flowers. I love the color.

The flowers are better known as 'shady ladies'and are a native of Australia- very long shelf life and very hardy plant. Have dealt with them for many years in floristry and love them very much. Spectacular!!!

Lucky you, Ronda, being able to holiday in Eden. We toured the Sapphire Coast some years ago. So many beautiful beaches!
