I am trying to figure out where the photo was taken. If it were from the Gateway Arch or near it, the Mississippi would be visible, as well as the train yards, so I think elsewhere. Could that be the Compton Heights water tower?

Jim, I have been to the top of the arch and it was one of my more claustrophobic experiences - and that's from one who is accustomed to confined spaces and high altitudes. My real worry was that having arrived at the top, I was going to have to get back into the capsule for the ride back down. I don't think I will be doing it again. Lovely view though.

Yes, Ian riding that 'train' to the top of the Arch is not pleasant, crammed in with fat people who reek of garlic! One tram broke last year, and folks had to walk down. It has since been repaired. The view up there I found odd, because all I could see (it was a cloudy day) was the train yards which lead up to the bridges across the Mississippi
