The amount of work gone into these costumes (include the other items as well) never ceases to amaze me. I mean, the year of the rat parade won't repeat until 12 years, right :-)

Don't get me wrong. I'm sure it was all worth the effort, and made the parade a memorable occasion!

Very fancy costumes, but still NO RATS!!! You'd think that a rat motif would be required.

Jyrki... it appears to me that they use the same costumes for the parade every year, since they don't have a Rat theme. This is colorful, not bestial.

Not quite sure why one would want to celebrate the rat. I went to quite some trouble to get rid of one last month. :)

maen all! i wasn;t aware that downunder had such an oriental subculture. i guess there's a chinatown in all major cities. that's true here in the usa. as a matter of fact even the smallest towns in remote areas seem to have chinese restaurants.

12:48 Somehow I can't go in for horoscopes. When I look at people who are all born the same year or same month I don't see the similarities there would be if horoscopes were true. I think the reality is much more complex than that. However, everyone loves to believe that they have admirable qualities and that their faults are inborn, so not "their fault" after all.
