My daughter just announced (through my grandson) that another baby is on the way! The baby is due May 7... We were almost figuring we'd only have one grandchild!

Judy, he called me Tuesday night to tell me he is going to be a big brother. That's how my daughter and SIL chose to spread the news! Payton has been an only child so far and he's 4.

This is my granddaughter, Lucelia, born last February. She had to wear a monitor and use oxygen for months after she went home because she would stop breathing when she slept. Time and caffeine eventually solved the problem, and she is doing well now. And she has lots of touching at home with three older siblings who adore her. We're grateful she survived the premature arrival!

I'm a preemie mom too - now he's 8 YO and a soccer playing terror.

She is beautiful, Wilodene! And, evidentially, a little fighter too!

I was a midwife & have looked after many tiny babies, then I had two of my own in neonatal intensive care! So i know how hard it is for mothers, father, grandparents, siblings, friends, anyone who is connected in anyway with this stressful time. Even when baby goes home there are more worries than taking home a healthy newborn & that is not worry free!!!

Such a touching photo. The little pink ribbon somehow makes it even more poignant. It's wonderful to hear that little Lucelia is doing so well now. Maybe one day Wilodene you can put up another photo of her as I'm sure we would all love to see how well she is now.

The pic could have been called "Even premies are gorgeous babies." So glad to hear she's through the worst. My second and youngest left home a month ago and is in the Middle East (won't even see him for Thanksgiving). Needless to say, I'm NOT through the worst.

There was something in today's paper about a 5yr study they have been doing here with premmies and caffeine. Apparently it cuts out a lot of this 'forgetting to breathe' thing that the prems do! Amazing.

I don't know why this photo is still here today, but I have added a current photo to my page if any of you want to check it out. Thank you for all the kind comments! My daughter is going to print them out for Lucie's baby book. And, yes, it was a difficult time, but those little rewards of love made it all worthwhile!
