Shiela - if being in the bathroom doesn't help, go out to the pigpen.

If you're pondering the puzzle in the bathroom, Shiela, I guess it's good that you have figured out #1 and #2 ...

Good afternoon to all! Just home from the Remembrance Day services at my Legion Branch. It was solemn and tearful as one of the wreaths was placed by a lady whose grandson was killed in Afghanistan last fall. Lest we forget.

Ray, thank you for posting the link to 'A Pittance in Time' yesterday. It IS a poignant song, and yes Mo, it should be seen in all countries that have soldiers involved in peace-keeping activities. In case folks didn't see Ray's post, here again is the link to the song:

I have to say that I am very divided about this Remembrance Day - not so much by the day itself but by the prevailing world circumstances and by the way some people celebrate it. I am uncertain about the validity of the wars in Iraq and in Afghanistan. In my opinion they are not just wars in the More...

Thank you everyone for your youtube clips. I seem to have spent the last 2 days with tears in my eyes. Why can't people talk and compromise to solve their differences and then think of the trillions we would have to spend on the reall issues facing us, with armies tohelp solve those problems - poverty, global warming etc!

Thank you Rayray for your article and poem. I agree that we need to look at the real issues in Afghanistan and decide another course to take. We need to cork the politicians and business world.

Many countries celebrate their honored dead and veterans on this day.

This day is not to honor war, but the sacrifice made by others for our freedom.

Hello World!
Today, here in the 'States', its time to remember all who have served this country and many of them continue to serve us in a variety of ways.... to often that service is taken for granted....please take time to simply say thank you for all that you do and have done.
Thanks a million times over!

True, Rayray.

But on this day, arguing about Iraq and Afghanistan is a bit like starting a nasty family fight about the divine (or not) nature of Jesus...at Christmas dinner.
