Query: how many of you say 'a couple of' and how many people say just 'a couple'--as in 'a couple of ducks' or 'a couple ducks'? I have always understood the idiom to require the preposition 'of' but recently I have heard many people who don't. Perhaps QRP would like to ring in?

ramen is a pre-fabricated flavored noodle meal which is very inexpensive and can be prepared easily. It gets old fast, imho, but it's not bad in a pinch. COmes in colorful (or colourful) red plastic wrap, as I recall.

We have a French market here in Woolwich until Saturday. They are baking French bread every day (every hour) and it is delicious. I am going to get some cheese for myself. Mild - Camembert. But, my brother likes strong cheese, if you whistle and it walks of the plate, then it is strong enough for him.

Hi catherine, Bill's making a joke. He's saying that his brother likes cheese that's so strong it can walk off the plate by itself, so if you whistle to it - as you would whistle to a dog - it will come to you! Was it Fiona who mentioned Vignotte the other day? That's a fabulous cheese - and doesn't walk off the plate!

My parents shop at Krogers, where they get the low fat eggnog for me. i dont like the thick kind because i choke so i always get the low fat kind. I'll be 18 soon, but i dont have to sign up for the army because im a girl, not a boy.
