Maybe it was 'domplimentary' after all.
André, it'll be good practice for my eldest's 18th birthday party at the end of the year. That will involve more people, bigger appetites, both genders, alcohol and probably some sleeping over, but hopefully not passing out. Alcohol is legal here at 18 so More...

SUSAN: Sometimes it's a curse, but my cup is always half FULL!

Good luck with the 18th party. I've never met an 18-year-old that could handle his/her alcohol, and most don't even want to! But I'm sure that you will keep a handle on it.

Col, rosemary and billy, do you remember our chat last week when I told you about something specific in the writing style of a number of posts supposedly from different people? Have a look at a relevant post from yesterday from supposedly a different person again, and you'll see exactly the same thing I mentioned. The plot thickens.

I found that one tricky! Yes Judy, a midwife. Qualified three years and work in a hospital delivery suite mostly, though I also work on the antenatal and postnatal wards too at times. I think that makes me more an OB/GYN nurse in US terms as I think you use midwife to describe an independent practitioner.

4.05 A bit slow today. Guess I'm feeling ol. My 'baby', Isaac, will be 14 tomorrow (US time), the 18th. I still remember him as a tiny one. Time goes way too fast!
 |  |
KEITH: You must be WAY up in Northern California! We are only 370 miles and 6 hours from home. Or you make a whole lot of food and potty stops on your trips! Tom and I would love to visit with the two of you ... too bad.
 |  |
Don't worry, Judy, my sister, also a teacher who knows many of the kids will be here this Sat as her 12 1/2 yo son is invited, and a couple of my friends. I'll be calling in the heavy backup for the 18th!! Now, I've only got Sultana Bran left, so I'd better go.
 |  |
CP: Whatever the terminology, you do a good thing, Girl! All of us moms are in awe of those who help us bring our kids into the world, kicking and screaming! (Us, not the kids!)

Happy birthday to your son, Susan, and hope you have a great party. You're right, I think the 18th will be trickier. I seem to hear of many gate-crashers at 18th's here in Canberra, kind of scares me off having one!

Midwife community small in Canberra, haven't found Hugh yet!

Happy Birthday to your son too, SUZ. My son turned 15 a while back, so I'm more than aware of the bottomless pit nature of these gorgeous creatures.

I've got a whole cupboard full of cereal here - look out I'll be posting all night!!LOL

Judy, I was rounding off Mapquest's estimate which was 390 miles and 7 hours 15 minutes or so, so I added one stop in to make it 8 hours. We live about 150 miles north of San Francisco on 101.

My wife's friend had had a rough last few years even though she remained cheerful and an More...

Good Monday Maen from the Pacific Northwest.

May all benevolent citizens of SudokuLand have a good week!

...ora et labora...
 |  |
KEITH: So you AREN'T that far! We do the 370 miles in 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 hours, depending on time of day and the number of stops. We'll be expecting you for dinner!
 |  |
CP: Wait until Hugh reads that we believe he spends his nighttime hours in midwifery! His submarine mates will disown him! He IS pretty vague about his job, however. Hugh ... we're just kidding!!

Judy, I get that your cabin is in the Yosemite Valley, now that is lovely country.
 |  |
Oregbear, you must have been asked before, what does 'ora et labora' mean?
 |  |
Judy, just to remind you that I've noticed that the road does go both ways.

Garden Party. Kiss my grits.

I'm back, had to email some regulars. I'm hungry too. What's in that cupboard of yours - hospital issue All Bran, or something worth eating? If it's edible, then, yes, yes, yes, I'll have what she's (I mean you're) having. You can't have any yourself unless you make repeated posts in a row with More...

CP: We are not actually in Yosemite, but we are close. Have you heard of Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort, one of the biggest in the US? Our little cabin is on the BACK of the mountain with the ski runs. The beauty does not rival Yosemite, as it is drier and more rugged here, but God's creation is in full bloom around us.
 |  |
KEITH: Clever guy, you are. Yes, we could also drive up and visit you and Lynn, but, other than your gracious self and wife, why would we want to leave our mountain Paradise? But you could convince me ... what does your locale offer as a means of enticement?

Steph, good news from the vet. Pepper has a sinus bacterial infection. Its not in the lungs. Yellow bile is a sign of the infection. Common in the keys. Vet commented that it was good to give 1/4 teaspoon of the benadryl. After a shot and liquid antibiotic, all is well.

My mistake, the owner of the yik yak blickety blak is what's dotty.

3:08. Hi folks. I won't be able to post anywere near the turn over time for another two weeks, so I know many won't see the message, but G'maEn, all. Hope things are as well in sudokuland as they seem from the above posts.

The first North Queensland Sudoku Anonymous meeting looks set to take place in Townsville mid August. you coming Baz? anyone else? This time I'm really going.

FROM: Why don't you reaveal yourself and join in? You are very observant and quite funny, without being mean, and I for one would like to know you better! Wouldn't that be more fun than sitting there reading comments, just waiting to make pot shots? We all know that you are a regular poster More...

I've tried to keep up with the Archives (thank goodness we're not doing 600+ posting a day again!). Belated thanks to JUDE for her (his?) comment back to me about San Diego being a good place to live but expensive. I love to visit San Diego, but the weather's too even for me. I like seasons. Also wanted to add my endorsement to the statement that real Southerners never say 'y'all' to a single individual. Y'all is always plural! 'All y'all' just refers to a bigger group! (Althugh I live in Dallas, I'm from Virginia, so I know what I'm talking about! Ha ha!)
