Beautiful day here, in the upper 70's very warm for 1 November.

Jerry, don't know if it has been pulled but no video comes up from the URL you gave. But was viewed by almost 3 million people :-)

Same here. First I got a message that YouTube, presumably the whole site, was down for maintenance. Then a message that an error occurred.

Maybe Jerry's just paranoid...maybe not...

Jerry, how about a hint or 2 about what we have missed. I tried and just got a standard listing of several offerings from a wide range of dates.

Jim, I'm a piclurker too - probably visit your photos every couple of weeks - just mean to look at the new ones, but always look through them all again. I'm envious of your ability. Particularly love the one of the old tortoise looking at you.

Jerry, I think someone reported your post with the URL as abusive and they pulled the video rather than your comment.

Well, the following exciting youtube is still available, while you're waiting for Jerry's.

I just tried - same result as you folks...

It was Congressman J. Randy Forbes, a 4 minute speech in congress.

Subject: In reference to President Obama's comments, while in Turkey, stating that the U.S. is not a Judeo-Christian nation. He, by the way, DID NOT attack Obama.

If it was "pulled" we all lost...

If 3 million have seen the video, I am sure it will re-emerge in some form. Free speech must not be stifled !

Jerry, I haven't been able to get the Forbes link, but there is this...

Far be it from me to defend this President. But his original words have to be taken in context. And I think he's right and quite reasonable in those statements. More...

CP I just don't get it why the powers that be in the health industry don't realise that people make mistakes when they are tired!!! Of all the employers who should understand that it should be yours! ARMPAC recipient

Forbes was a large recipient of former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay's ARMPAC campaign contributions. DeLay is being prosecuted on charges of felony money laundering of campaign finances and conspiracty to launder money. To date, Forbes has not offered to return or donate to charity any of the $30,000 he received, despite calls from Democrats to do so.

Ian: I am not so sure about scratching the "Judaeo-" prefix out. There many outside the country who regard the USA as a satellite of the state of Israel, although their economic 'take-over' has been historically recent.

For those who just can't wait for the YouTube, a transcript of Cong. Forbes' remarks...which, by the way, contain a subtle anti-Catholic swipe, in a reference to an "undivided trinity," wording from the Treaty of Paris.

I wish to be added to the piclurker list

I won't say if I'm a lurker or not, because if one declares oneself to be a lurker, one ceases to be a lurker, so you'll just have to wonder about me ...

Off to work! Have a great day everyone! It is supposed to be 37 degrees C here today. I think that is about 100 degrees F for those of you on top of the world. It is tough on the little ones when they have to spend a day at school in those conditions. Evaporative air conditioners don't make that much difference. Catch you later.

It was a cold and dark night, but it was not a stormy night. The man trudged on, enjoying the memory of the cheese he had nibbled on the night before, which had been a dark and stormy night. In the distance, he saw a sea of stars.

I beg your pardon, a slight editing problem here, which may make this narrative ineligible for a "Glindaglory" award.

Good morning all.
Jim - I too am a lurker. My favourite is a recent one of a bee on a lemon leaf - spectacular colours.
Keith - nice to see you with a bit of colour again.
Happy Birthday to my lovely grandson Lachlan - 11 today - or not until 3.33 this afternoon as he just told me on the phone.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) is a sacred day in Australia. Far bigger than Halloween. In Victoria, it is even a public holiday. It is the day the Melborne Cup is run. Regarded as the greatest handicap race in the world. Not weight for age like the Kentucky Derby or Prix d'Arc de Triomphe. How about a few More...

Glinda
Re some of the earlier posts. Are the stars in the general direction of Bethlehem?
02/Nov/09 10:13 AM

That's too bad. I've already nominated the cheese for the 'Best Supporting Character' Glindaglory.

Salyz, an intriguing question. One star, of course, is always in the direction of Bethlehem, but whether Bethlehem stars feature in this story will depend upon just how long this story will get dragged out.

Saylz or anyone else - do you have a tip for the race? I can't decide. I was trying to find the field to cut and paste here for our friends to give their thoughts on - but every site to do with the cup just won't open. Obviously very busy.

And the shelf-life of the cheese.

Glinda, I think Ian may have stilted the conversation perhaps? I hope the cheese was well wrapped, in some translucent material.

'Glindaglorys' sound wonderful, you deserve them for your 'pointe' alone.

Ian, do you want to borrow my zippo? I'm sporting a large blister, from three trick attempts that went badly wrong. Glinda doesn't need it shes on a well lit path...
