Rose - thank you. That just about says it all. No poem - can't get past ideologies of the romantics...riveting, bet they didn't wear polyester.

The comments about polyester reminded me of another popular 60's fabric fad --> the paper dress! I never owned one, but an acquaintance wore one to a college mixer, and it looked fab -- until she started dancing...and perspiring..... She had to leave early.

Interesting thesis and discussion - good added points by MizTricia -but I think I agree with Rose! Besides I seem to have an allergy to polyester and have the most awful BO while wearing it, no matter how much deodorant I use. (I know too much info!!!!).

re: Michael from Boston -- I've got one better! I have fabric shopping bags that're over twenty years old! I put a paper bag inside, for added strength & to make the fabric bag hold it shape. When the paper bag gets 'tired'-looking, I remove it & use it to bag my newspapers for recycling. Those More...
