Hi Rayray, when I was small and first saw a photo of a man wearing a cork rimmed hat I could not understand how they hung down around his face when it was quite clear from my (mainly pink) globe that they must be upside down!

Right you are, GMo, but the children of irresponsible parents walk through the classroom door along with the ones that have parents that have done it right, and the teacher is expected to deal with both ... at the same time.

Maybe we should start giving compulsory child rearing classes to these parents. Maybe starting with putting them in front of a class of just unruly kids and leave them to control them and see for themselves...... but then again they were probably unruly themselves and would just join in the anarchic behavior.

Whilst I am feeling a 'grump' - why don't long haul airlines put ALL children upstairs in jumbo's so that 'grown ups' traveling without children can sleep and otherwise enjoy their flight. Having traveled from Singapore to London for 13 hours with , according to the flight attendant 27 under 10's on the flight I can tell you it would drive even the greatest child lover to distraction!

Missed it but was talking to my 10 year old grandee. Here is one of her latest poems from her blog
Summer Days

On summer days I like to...

build houses for fairies,
look for shooting stars,
watch wimbledon,
make daisy chains,
swim in the sea,
fly on a More...
