Loud and clear, mel. Another question - how many states are in oz?
I am trying to broaden my horizons and upgrade my geography knowledge.
 |  |
Mel, that would include Beehive too then?
 |  |
Are you 'guys' (a generic Texas term) talking rugby, soccer (football), or what?
 |  |
I think it would.
 |  |
Well Baz as most of the cereal posters and their supporters keep telling the rest of us, don't read them if you don't like them. All you have to do when you see their names, is scroll on. Actually can't blabber on as long as them, however blah blah etc
on and on and on and on - oh by the way are you going to be a Quote Nazi?

There are states and territories in Australia jamie
States are Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia
The Territories are Northern Territory and Australian Capital Territory (which is where Canberra is - and doesn't really include much else!)
 |  |
I just realised that I didn't explain that clearly. Most Australians live in the eastern states, which is probably why more posters are from here. There are 6 states and 2 territories, Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania (the eastern states with Tassie being the island), South Australia More...
 |  |
Mel, thanks. So what distinguishes a state from a territory? Are there privileges or rights that one has and the other doesn't - political or otherwise?
 |  |
jamie From texas - In this case we're talking Aussie rules - probably best described as cross country ballet.
 |  |
bye again susan - thanks
 |  |
A state has it's own government - can pass laws etc, a territory technically is run by the federal government. The 6 states were also where the 6 colonies joined together to form the commonwealth.
 |  |
Got it, I think. THANKS
 |  |
Baz, I agree with you about Paul and Ziba but I just scroll past their posts. Unlike a previous poster (dont remember what name) I was not brought up atheist but had religion taught to me from birth. I use the word 'taught' loosely. It could be described more like putting the fear of God into you More...

Another initiate to the CP's ... Welcome, JAMIE!!

HUGH: I knew it!! Yes, SUSAN, twelve visits home would have been hard on the little woman!
 |  |
Thanks, JUDY! I think. LOL I have to get my corresponding done this week - I am at camp with our 7-9th graders from church next week, then back to school!!
When school starts I probably get 'here' about three times a week for 10-15 minutes. Bummer.
You and susan really had hugh figured out.

If I have read between the lines correctly, BERT, and you have properly identified the fella whose grapes have been out in the sun too long and have soured ... SOUR GRAPES, you ARE loved, respected, and sorely missed on this site. Please think long and hard about disappearing, OK? Whether one More...

To Jaid....My Dad had pancreatic cancer. He was diagnosed in March 2002 and passed away in October 2002. From what the Drs told us it seems their life expectancy is between 6 months and 12 months. It would depend on what treatment is suggested and what choices there are. My Dad had radiotherapy More...

A woman walks into a doctor’s surgery with a huge boil on her arse. The doctor squeezes it, pushes it, and then looks at the hard white pus core.

He says, 'This is too big a job for me.' So he sends her to a specialist in the field, Gus the pus sucker.

The woman goes to Gus who More...

Thanks for the update. My due date is 19 August. I have one daughter who was born 8 minutes into her due date, 50cm and 7lb 6oz. I have no idea what I'm having so you can take a punt on that too if you like! Ree P is having her first child, is due on 26 August and is having a boy.
 |  |
Okay are we starting the guesses now for Angry Ant and Ree Pee?

Angry Ant...A girl, 20th August( my daughters birthday), 8lb 4oz.

Ree Pee....A boy, 28th August, 9lb 1oz

Get me in (if somebody is keeping track?) -

Angry Ant - a boy, August 17th, 8 lb even

Ree Pee - August 25, 7 lb 14 oz
 |  |
Who is going to keep track this time??

ANGRY ANT: boy, August 18, 7 lb 14 oz

And we know that the winners here are REALLY the moms and babes!

What happened last November to make everyone turn off their TVs or was there a power failure - all these babies?..........Perhaps there was leave granted!!!
 |  |
oops
sorry just Ree P
 |  |
Hi Everyone.....thanks for the bets. So far I'm liking Jamie from Texas as that's the earliest and nice and small. Deb from Brisbane.....are you trying to kill me....that's a bloody big baby you're proposing I'm going to have!

Just to put my bid in: I think Angry Ant is having a Boy on 15 August and 7lb 6oz...with big feet ..(well that's what my dream was the other night)
 |  |
LOLOLOL...sorry Ree Pee. Well I would have said 9lb for Angry Ant as I picked my daughter's birthday for her and she was 9lb 4 oz but she said her first was 7lb so thought I wouldn't. Haha.
Dont worry I found big babies quite easy to deliver, they seem to do a lot of the work.

ROFL...

TEACHER: Parker, what do you call a person who keeps on talking to people who are no longer interested?
PARKER: A Teacher
 |  |
Ree Pee
thanks for your input too.
think yourself lucky I put my smallest baby weight down for you as mine range from 7lb4oz to 10lb 8oz.
I am sure you will cope no matter what and you must be getting very excited as the impending arrival of your first baby is fast approaching. It is a very special time for all your family.

I will be a quote nazi if plonkers insist on mis-quoting me to make their point. But other than that I don't give too much of a poop. Mis-quote everyone else as much as you like.
 |  |
I also tend to not read the quotes by the religious right, but that doesn't stop it from annoying me.
 |  |
6:07 pm, is beehive with us then?
 |  |
What's going on? No posts for an hour and a half? Can't believe that!
 |  |
couldn't be anything to do with you could it ducky?
 |  |
I am flattered that a nameless plonker would think that, but I would doubt it.
