Wow, Plum, you did some research. I did not attend, Mike did. The service from what I gather was about how the only reason I children are the way they are, is because of how we raised them, because they are totally stupid when they are born and must learn their behavior. This probably would not even be a topic thought of if that preacher had used a different word.

Where is Jerry the pot stirrer? I remember him saying something about building a well. Hope he's not stuck down in a hole somewhere.

I think I am doing enough stirring with my topic.

Though I have good news. I am going to attempt a nap before it is time to go pick up the girl. Please do not let me over sleep past 2:15 please. Pick up time is at 3.

Okay. One more...

The are no stupid children!! There are, however, stupid DABCHICKS....and that IS my last word.....
Bye!

Again, have fun and be safe.

Oops! 'There', of course!
Evidently, THE are stupid Marylanders!

So I'll stir the pot . We always dressed up for church too. It bothers me today to see people walking in in flip flops, cutoffs, muscle shirts,etc... carrying their Starbucks cups and food. (My old church just spent a fortune having the pew cushions cleaned). Now I know people say, More...

In the interest of full disclosure...that 'shoving something in their face" comment was made by someone who ate a Klondike bar this morning and has her hand currently in the Frito's bag while I type . Karen, toss me a DP!

Better yet bring me a fountain drink when you come back from picking up Thing I. Boy, I'm really procrastinating the chores today. Can you tell hubby's out of town and I have no one to chat to?

Been there and done that, Shannon, I can come in here and talk and talk and talk and no one has to be around.
I know I said I was going to lay down, but when I did, I did a CP, the voices in my head would not be quiet so I could rest.
And yes, on the way to the school there will be a stop for a fountian drink. I guess I should say stop again. They are on sale this Summer.

Like you, I believe you should look your best and keep your snack for before you enter or after you leave.
Oh, dear, there is a noise, that means I am about to get the best hug ever. Thing II is stingy with her kisses, but gives the biggest hugs.

The Little Grebe (Tachybaptus ruficollis), also known as Dabchick, is 23 to 29 cm in length. It is the smallest European member of the grebe family of water birds and is commonly found in open bodies of water across most of its range.

Little Grebe is a small water bird with a pointed bill. The adult is unmistakable in summer, predominantly dark above with its rich, rufous colour neck, cheeks and flanks, and bright yellow gape. The rufous is replaced by a dirty brownish grey in non-breeding and juvenile birds.

Ah, you've hit on the one thing I would change about my church, though it's so relatively unimportant compared to what really matters.

However, things being what they are nowadays, I have been known to enjoy a cup of yerba mate during the Bible Study portion, especially during the winter More...

Showing your age, Fiona.Flying does feel like Greyhound bus service nowadays. My grandmother used to make me wear the patent leathers and gloves even when she took me downtown shopping. I swear I've seen people in pj's and slippers at the airport. Plum,I don't have a problem drinking coffee during bible study...you're sitting around a table and conversing. It's just during service...

I admire and envy the fervor with which my religious friends embrace their faith. What bothers me about organized religion, however, is that each religion/sect/branch seems to believe that theirs is the only TRUE religion and non-believers (i.e., those that are not part of their group) are not More...

I remember learning about grebes when I was in about 6th grade, but, Fiona, I think you've just told me more than I forgot.
Jane, are you saying that the title SUPERDABCHICK is not "up for grebes"? And I was wondering if I had a chance...

Need to make an admendment. I do not see taking a drink to Sunday school is a problem. I see a problem taking food and drink into the sanctuary. (Is that spelt right)? When I did attend church, Sunday School was an hour before the church service. I do mind hearing someone eat though, whether they are at church or not. Now that is just not right.

Plum - not everyone can be a SUPERDABCHICK. There IS a pecking order, after all.

My sister and I took our self-appointed positions as fashion police seriously when we were younger , especially her. Of course she can wear a burlap sack and look fabulous, the stinker. I still fight off the urge to go up to people and offer to buy them a mirror that they must so obviously lack.

There is, however, an opening for the superBADchick title.

OMG Jane! Did you ever see the Cheers episode where Woody talks about how he and Kelly will be separated in heaven by barbed wire and barking dogs because he was LCA Lutheran and she was ALC Lutheran (or something to that effect)?

Ummm not familiar with that (e-mails) Jane, but I can probaly guess what it pertains to...As for religion, I'm a half-breed. Irish Catholic father, Missouri-synod Lutheran (worst kind, lol) mother. And that's what drove me crazy too - the "My religion is THE religion" attitude. My honey More...

When in the States on one of those grey mornings when it was nice to watch some American TV, I discovered what Jane has been going on about for the last 6 months - zumba! Now in response to Jane - again, it's long and personal, and by saying what I say I mean no disrespect for anyone, as you'll see:

Whew. I'm exhausted and you all are probably much more tired than I am. So, with a thank you to you all for allowing me this unusual personal and controversial set of posts, I will go back to real life ... then return to complain and joke and generally go back to taking my life in Sudokuland at the normal level of light-heartedness. I love you all and appreciate you.
