GEO, congrats on having numbers today

is the pond shrinking a good thing? Ponds in the pastures here shrank to mud puddles and it was not good at all! Those ponds were for watering livestock. Beginning to fill again, some more than others.

I feel like my body has gotten totally out of shape,
so I got my doctor's permission to join a fitness club
and start exercising. I dec ided to take an aerobics
class for seniors. I bent, twisted, gyrated, jumped up
and down, and perspired for an hour. But, by the time I
got my leotards on, the class was over.

MizT...no the pond was not planned. You're correct, toooo much water but needed here. The pond was on Tonka's side of the yard and had it been summer, even though he is a tortoise, he would have loved to sit in it and pslash the water on his back. He does that with the sprinklers. Right now he and Buster are both in their houses, heads at the doors, hoping for sunshine and warmer temps.

Geo - I checked your page to find out who Buster was and I couldn't look at your pictures. Why?
27/Jan/08 2:52 AM

MizT - thanks to you and Mamacita I dug my copy of Pillars of the Earth out of my stack of "to read" books and have started on it. I buy more books than I read, so there is a huge backlog waiting for my retirement.
I will have to be on the lookout for some Ian Rankin at the bookstore.

Dorthea....the pics don't show because I haven't updated since the site crashed. I tried to update it by starting with deleting the blank pics but haven't figured out how to do that. Maybe it can't be done. Tonka and Buster are our Sulcata tortorises. They are 100 and 70 lbs respectively. Both male and so they have to have their own territory and therefore each has a side of our backyard.

Hi to you, too, Mamacita! I was so glad the news of Angelique's & Ethan's births was posted before the site went haywire & we left home. One of the first things I did when we got back was go look at the baby pictures! I LOVE babies! My youngest daughter, who is not yet married, said to More...

Miz T. On the forum pages 'Arts for Old Pharts' was used to talk about books as well as other events. There are still a few recommended titles there. Geo. So. Cal - Ponds are to be expected when that sail (decomposed granite) had less than 3" of rain last year and now you are having heavy rains. Floods and mud slides are also to be expected after the fires. It is an endles cycle in So. Cal. - with a few earthquakes thrown in for good measure. Been there done that.

Hi Eve! So many folks to catch up with! I finally found time to check out the T-shirts, anthem, float ideas on the forum. Eve...I know it all very well. Arizona born but So. Cal raised. Fortunately we are surrounded by but not in the heart of the slides and fires. Kathy: It looks as if the simplest design "Angies" is prefered. Several people had said they wanted to show that the site is more than just Sudoku and it is encompasses the world.

Kathy: I don't think there there has been any concensus yet. I have always liked Angie's design as well, and she has advised me she will work at it a little over the next few days (busy with her family) and present a slightly revised version in the next few days. Everything proposed has merits, so it really comes down to individual taste and perception. Cheers!
