topaz it is amazing how smoko and meals preparation consume you as a farmer's wife! you spend your life in the kitchen and as soon as you have finished cleaning up after one meal, it is time to prepare for the next! particularly around shearing when you are feeding a castof thousands!!

I never understood why dog owners call it taking their dog for a 'walk'. Isn't there another 4 letter Anglo-Saxon word that better describes what theyre taking their dog out to do?

I can just see some woman telling her husband, 'Honey, turn on the fan after you take a walk.'

And why do dogs never 'walk' on their own owner's property.

Deb, a relative who toured Europe couldn't believe that people were allowed to take their dogs into restaurants and on buses etc. She found Italy (I think it was Rome) had dog do everywhere.
In Australia dogs must be on a leash in public, and apart from trained dogs on a harness for blind and deaf people, aren't allowed in many public places including the beach.
