Rolanda: First I thought Lynda was married, then I thought she wasn't married, now I again think she is married.

Suzy: I think the book will be in sections - a bit of everything - and one of the sections will be selected poetry - I'm glad the competition from TV is not strong.

Angie W - Totally agree - chocolate/caramel is a great combination and far better than a creme egg. Now I need chocolate.

We're just going out flood-hunting. My husband is fascinated by floods so we're off to check out our full dam then go further to see what's flooded and where. Our poor driver in our truck is trying to negotiate his way to our customers throught the flooded Brisbane Valley. Hope he and the truck stay safe!

Lynda: You must have had a very boring wedding if you have forgotten it. Or perhaps you were blotto on champagne and awoke with total amnesia? (I joke)

CynB: Queenland floods reminds me of my first week in Australia. In Innisfail we had 48 inches of rain in 2 days and the farm where I was staying was cut off for a week. I never saw anything like it - before or since. the flood water stopped only inches from the top of the Tinaroo(?) dam. If it hadn't stopped the town of Ingham would have been swept away. That really was rain.

Rayray there were five at my wedding, my parents, my intended and the celbrant. The whole thing cost $6.00, we had a weekend in Albany and back at work by Monday! No photos.

Brilliant Lynda - all the more champagne to go round !! The Monday return must have been a headache.

The first night in Albany when we got to the motel there was a cat having kittens on the bed, so we went for a walk until she had finished! Then we were too late to eat. The car broke down. I was quite pleased to get home.

I am an awkward person, I don't like champagne or chocolate!! But thanks for the thought, that was very welcome. My treat is walk in the forest.

Oh mama, now you've done it! The talk of Cadbury chocolate didn't tempt me, but then you had to go & bring up Lindt. I had to go to my secret hiding place & get myself a couple dark chocolate Lindor Truffles. Soooooooo delicious!

Any kind of chocolate for me. I'll even eat the diet kind. I'm desperate.

No Lynda was going to run over the kittens to tenderise them before eating but the car broke down making it too late to have dinner. I think.

Hi Susan/Qld, you are right. We're used to water on the roads that clears not long after the rain stops, and it's common to fight it for a while and keep doing 'the usual'. So you keep thinking it will be alright as soon as it stops raining. Today I didn't count on it not stopping!! Especially More...

Speaking of food, Gath is going to help me put the Sudoku Cookbook (which I finished last week) on my site. He said people can either read it there or download it to print out. I'll let you know when it is ready.

Puss in Boots there is no way I would deliberately run over any animal so you are quite safe from me. I eat meat very rarely, mostly live on fresh fruit, like our forebears.

Hey! She who is not the cat's mother, just saw your little aside there. We waited until the cat had given birth, when she had finished she took them one by one, (5 of them) out through the door to a shed where she had made her nest. None of them were eaten. Apropos of that event we decided never to breed.

Sorry Kathy, but glad you had a stash to turn to for comfort.
Lynda, no problem if chocolate and champagne are not your cup of tea...Its always good to know what turns you on, and if its a walk in the forest enjoying nature's bounty...thats wonderful...not awkward...continue to enjoy!

Mamacita I am always amazed that after a really hot and dry summer the most delicate of flowers appear as soon as it rains. The ground is nutrient poor yet still these exquisite plants survive. It is a pretty harsh and unforgiving place. Out in the bush at night the stars are right down to the ground, there is no polution so they can been seen clearly.

I just went out to get my lunch and there was this strange thing in the sky. I think it is called the sun. It didn't last long though, as the clouds are coming back and we are expecting monsoonal rain over the next day or two. Gee, that will make a change.

I had to take #2 son to visit the orthodontist yesterday. He has a front tooth that is moving out of line. The story is - 1. Wear braces on your top teeth for 12 months and set your parents back $3500. or 2. If you get hit in the mouth (even accidently) your tooth will break off at the gum line More...

Tinaroo Dam is near Atherton and is on the Barron River. Perhaps the town that was in danger of being washed away was Mareeba. Has anyone heard from Sharlene? Is she in a flood prone area?
05/Feb/08 2:32 PM
 |  |

Thanks Lynda, I do have a dryer but it takes ages to get anything dry because of the humidity (even when it isn't raining). I have a small line in the garage and it does a better job. The heat from the cars dries the clothes nicely.
05/Feb/08 2:33 PM

I haven't heard of any flooding around Sharlene's part of the coast, so I think she is ok - just busy.
