1:49 - a nice easy one tonight.

Whover that baby is won't appreciate this photo once they are old enough to realise just how embarassing it is! ;-)

3:11 - Waaaaaaay too slow! Cute little munchkin! Who's is he/she?
05/Aug/07 12:08 AM
 |  |

'Whose' - not 'who's'!!!!!!

Good morning to all! What a happy looking kid. A cute outfit too!

For the weekend, enjoy Carly Simon and James Taylor singing ''Mockingbird.'' Cheers!

Chris, could be worse...could be ''bottoms up'' on a bear skin rug!

Good morning, hot and sticky again here today. Very cute, happy baby!

Yes Kathy, but I didn't want to mention that (I'm still psychologically scarred over the traditional 'bottoms up' photo of mine from nearly 50 years ago!)

2:29 Good evening all. I hope you're all enjoying your weekend.

Oh, Chris! You must post that picture on your page! Oops! You don't have a page, do you?

Jane, for that picture, he should get one!

Chris, become a member, get your own page, and post the ''bottoms up'' pic!
My morning is started with a huge smile on my face. I love shots like that. That baby looked sooo cute and happy, it's hard not to be happy, too!

Hi, Jano! How's your neighborhood? Is it safe for you and your family? It's so great to hear from you!

actually 'who's' is correct, as it is a contraction of 'who is'.
05/Aug/07 12:33 AM

I found an oooolllllddd photo album which contained my baby pics. All I can say I was one happy kid who terrorized my parents, relatives, nanny, and community with my antics.

This joke has been around the block a few times, but it is still funny.

Last week I purchased a burger at Burger King for $1.58. The counter girl took my $2 and I was digging for my change when I pulled 8 cents from my pocket and gave it to her. She stood there, holding the nickel and 3 More...

rosemary, you're right. We do have a lot of problems to fix up in our own country, a major one being the huge problems faced by Aborigines as you mentioned. Government policies have been failures, millions of dollars have been misspent and passive welfare has created all sorts of social problems. More...

Scrappingmami, not if Jane was asking about who the parents were. ie whose kid is he/she? But if Jane meant who the kid is, then you're correct.
Jane, which did you mean?
05/Aug/07 12:39 AM
 |  |
A Gloucester Old Spot, clearly!
05/Aug/07 12:40 AM
 |  |
sorry Scrappingmami Jane was right to fix who's to whose since she's asking who 'owns' the baby, whose is he/she rather than who's is he/she
05/Aug/07 12:42 AM
 |  |
snap shosho, but Jane is right. You can't put Who's is he/she
05/Aug/07 12:43 AM
 |  |

Scrappingmami: Sorry, 'who is' (or it's contraction 'who's') is incorrect in the context of my earlier sentence. By incorrectly using 'Who's' instsead of 'Whose', my sentence would translate to 'Who is is he/she?'

I've been in the teaching business for 30 years and have watched the teaching trends swing from one end (whole word movement emphasizing meaning of text) to other end (phonetics - sounding out words). The higher ups don't realize as teachers have that you need both! But they handicap us by only More...

Jane, I think you could insert ''Teaching Math in 1975:''

A logger sells her truckload of lumber...

...and wouldn't it read, in its uncontracted form, ''who is is'' with the second interpretation?
05/Aug/07 12:45 AM
 |  |

Oops! 'Instead' - not 'instsead'. I must not have gotten enough sleep last night????
05/Aug/07 12:47 AM
 |  |
shosho, that's because the higher ups have no knowledge of teaching. It also makes sense that some children respond better to one teaching method than another, and by giving all children a combination of techniques you have a much better chance of reaching those who struggle.
Ian, what are you asking?
05/Aug/07 12:50 AM

Shosho , i am fine , and my family too
Thank you very much

Well I'm off to exercise. Will check in later, for the fun of madness! Today at church will be the Obon Festival. We'll be dancing in the streets - traditional Japanese community dances with some modern ones thrown in. Shiawase Samba and One Plus One (a rock and roll version of Japanese dance) Kids love them and it brings them back to the traditional basics.

waiting for the 'pick me up' call from my son. Hooray, people to talk to!!

I am really impressed with how alert everyone is this morning/afternoon/evening. Now whose going to spot the grammatical error in THIS post??????

Susan, I'm just agreeing with Jane's post about ''who is is.''

or not. May as well go read the paper.

Nearly all typos and errors are graciously overlooked here. It's (not its) only when someone corrects someone else--incorrectly--that the back-and-forth begins.

Shosho - Have fun at your festival! I'm off to the supermarket to buy ingredients for a dinner party tomorrow night. I'll be making Italian stuffed flank steak. If anyone is interested in getting the recipe, let me know and I'll post it on the Recipes page.
