Do I? Hello Greg xx Anne take a bottle of wine into work and enjoy would be my recommendation x

Dishwashers...My dishwasher, as with my temperamental Freezer, likes to pretend to wash, leaving everything to be hand washed after an hour long cycle (not a tandem). I am getting quite handy with a blow torch...

André, I've found it's cheaper to just either throw the dishes away or use paper plates. That saves on both water consumption and electricity use.

Greg, you're making me late for work as I have to keep replying.
Now I really must get into the shower and get ready for work.
Cheers!

Ah, I used to walk along a road like this on my way to school some mornings! There was a bus, but if I walked I got to save the fourpence bus money, and spend it on lollies after school! (Priorities!) But that was a different century... ;)

That must be a Judy thing, Judy (Nunawading). I also used to walk to school to save the fare for more important things.

I'll try and post this joke again. Didn't put enough*** in it yesterday and the foul filter fell.
A bogan (an Australian unemployed layabout) went into the employment office in Bridgewater Tasmania. (A slum development near Hobart) and said to the woman behind the counter
" I wish I More...

I don't know how much coverage the burnt koala drinking from the water bottle held by a firefighter during the bushfires earlier this year got overseas but it was a front page photo all over Australia. Unfortunately Sam as she was called, yeaterday had to be humanely put down during an operation More...

It is thought that the disease has spread more rapidly amongst koalas in recent years due to the stress of overcrowding as their habitat is destroyed. It is of course a STD and there are isolated colonies on islands etc where it is not a problem.

Yes Saylz, very sad about Sam the koala. She became a beacon of hope during the fires.
They said she was going downhill, so they decided to operate and discovered that she was 'riddled with chlamydia', made worse by the stress she endured. They said it had become lethal, so sadly, it was the only decision they could make.
RIP Sam

Good afternoon all - great Stringybark Creek picture.
I also used to walk to school to save money for more interesting things - however that was in the burbs - I wouldn't walk along that track alone, thank you very much.
Sad news about the koala, saylz.
Nice to see you posting Anne.

For their own well-being and that of koalas, I guess firefighters should never cuddle those appealing little animals.

Rolanda - The WA Canine Centre at Canning Vale is one of the best in Australia. I judged there on a number of occasions previously. I have bred and shown Chihuahuas myself so I hope I don't upset too many exhibitors. There can however be only 1 winner.

That's cetainly true Rayray but this particular one approached a firefighter and drank from his water bottle even though she was a wild koala. The scene was captured on a phone camera and became an instant hit. Not however as many hits as Susan Boyle.

In zoos and wildlife parks they tend to domesticate fairly readily but are inclined to pee on you when you are holding them. Getting their own back no doubt.

I would like to do that - so please; how can I hit Susan Boyle?!

For those interested I've posted the original You Tube of Sam on my page.

Rayray - find the right mental institution and take a big stick with you.

Obviously, Saylz, if they weren't happy with you as a Judge in previous visits, you wouldn't be coming there in 36 days time to Judge a winner.
May the best Chihuahua win !!

Weather report please Rayray. Is Headingly getting close to your home turf? Should we go with 3 seamers and a spinner or 4 seamers.
That should confuse the Yanks.

Rolanda
I judged the NSW Chihuahua Club Show about 9 years ago and the following week the dog I placed Best in Show was sold to Japan for $A10,000 because it had won a "BIG" show under a breed specialist. I didn't get a commission.

Just about finished work for the day so will depart. You can tell it's Friday afternoon with not much to do.

Saylz: It is difficult to predict UK weather. I believe Headingly is up north (Leeds) and the weather there is likely opposite to here in Sussex. So, bring on the fast balls; aim them headingly as bouncers; and knock a few bonces off with them.

I really must learn the art of old stone age conversation
07/Aug/09 5:14 PM
 |  |

By the Neolithic era mankind had learnt to pursue conversation for its own sake.
Prior to that, soundbites were directed towards satisfying primitive urges.
The modern era is characterised, through social policy, by a determined regression to primitive times.
