More interesting brekky for us today!

Donuts and seafood? Now there's a strange combination.

For those who missed my comment last week: I finally have some pix on my page. They are of our trip to Vermont, Boston, and New York last fall. Enjoy.

Now that is just an odd combination-- I can't imagine it smells very good in there at any time of the day!!

Weird! Unless maybe they combined a corn fritter with battered deep fried fish. But is a corn fritter a donut? Probably not. So, I agree... Yuck!

maen all! texas fusion...i'll bet they have fried food to die for though! the best fried chicken i've ever had came from a place like this in central north carolina. i go far out of my way just to eat there on our back and forths to florida.

Wonder if they use the same oil for both? I think I'd keep on driving ...

I have seen some strange combinations but this one takes the cake. I like donuts and seafood but I don't think I want them in the same restaurant.

5:28 It makes sense to me -- they can make more money if they can be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It wouldn't be gross. They could just make enough donuts in the morning to last all day (many places do) then use the oil for fish, empty and start again with new in the morning. If Long John More...

Maybe it is tempura style fish? I have to say that is southern California, I have seen donut stores/Chinese food/ice cream combined. I've never been inside, but maybe there are three separate places within one storefront?

Here in some parts of the uk you can get deep fryed Mars bars or Snickers (in batter) so dough nuts and fish may not be such a strange combo

I agree with Plum... donut in am and fish for lunch...no problem with that ....
as for oil...I am sure the fish would leave flavor to everything but not the other way around. I know some places, used to fry potatoes using same oil for many days... never eard of sickness...

Thinking about that, Danstell, I expect the oil is so hot that any nasties would be well and truly fried. :0 Doesn't sound the nicest, but probably safe enough.
