Off to church...then swim meet for the kids... and tutoring a friend. Busy day.

We have lost so many old barns, and they are the home for bats.

Is this medium harder than normal? I can usually do these without possibilities...or perhaps my brain is just tired...I tutored yesterday for 6 straight hours. (A friend is taking college algebra and is very lost.)

maen all! my out buildings upstate are in a little better shape...but not much...fresh red wash did a great deal of good... looks wise at least.

Hi deltz .... a lot of barns in Kentucky were originally painted black ( like the ones on our farm ) and when they fade, look like the barn in this picture. I vastly prefer red barns myself. But I've spoken to many people locally who prefer black.

A lot of old barns have been left unattended around here and just fall down. Very sad.

There were two barns on my grandfather's farm. The older one was built by my great-grandfather (or his father - not sure about that) and was one of the stopping points on the underground railroad in the early-to-mid-1800s.

Kate and Heidi. No, unfortunately the barn was torn down several years ago. But I was able to acquire one of the boards from the barn. I have a picture of the barn but it is not digital. If I get a chance I will scan it in to my computer and pass it on.
