Two gentlemen on the left of the photo were playing bocce. So instead of photographing flying balls and excited facial expressions, 'ol muggins' here chose to photograph people strolling in the leafy shade. Dullsville!

maen all! shaggy bark sycamores...quite popular around here...fast growing,good shade,long lived,deep root system so they don't push up the sidewalks.

Greg, yes we did, it was a hot day and the place looked so inviting.

Ian, as you probably already know, Darmstadt is home to ESA's equivalent to NASA's Houston. While stationed in Germany, we had the privilege of living in the same neighborhood of one of the ESA engineers and got to visit the mission control center. That was really fantastic.

BTW, I have finally finished reading your memoirs and will respond in the next day or two.

So it wasn't my foggy brain. The medium was actually hard.

i can't believe the times you can do these puzzles in. after a couple months my fastest time ever on a med. is about 8 min.! this one took me 20! worth the pic though.
