Anne - Don't know if it's a 'real' verse or not, but my children and I always add a second verse to your song.

Eating all the gum drops he can see
Laugh, Kookaburra, laugh, Kookaburra
Gay your life must be!

Looking for some help from y'all. My daughter has a student presentation to give in her microbiology class and, long story short, she is looking for synonyms for 'vomit'. (Barf, hurl, puke etc.) She's hoping for some local slang terms, and would also love some foreign language words. So there's the More...
 |  |
I know both those verses. So, I guess that's the tree he sat in?!
 |  |
'Tie a yellow ribbon 'round the old oak tree...'
 |  |
Arene - back in my Indiana home - my mother use to use 'up-chuck'. she was born in 1914, so I assume that is the term her mother used.

The third verse we sang was

Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree
Pinching all the monkeys he can see
Laugh, Kookaburra, laugh, Kookaburra
That's not a monkey that's me

Don't know if any one else knows that verse or not.

Good Maen!
 |  |
Arlene - one of our euphamisims is 'ralph' or more common 'bow to the porceline god'
 |  |
Missielely: Yes! I do remember that one! Hadn't thought of it in years and years and....
 |  |
Bow to the porcelain god...

LOLOL

5:16 Hi to all and a happy weekend.
 |  |
Alene- you may recall several years ago, during an ill-fated visit to Japan, the elder Pres. Bush became nauseous at a state dinner and threw up on the Japanese Prime Minister.

A Japanese language teacher, while explaining the verb ending -masu, told us that to throw up subsequently became known in Japan as bushimasu. Your daughter sounds very cool.
 |  |
Alene, we also had things like 'driving the porcelain bus' 'blowing chunks' is another. LOL. very terrible thought but funny. see if i can think up any more Aussieisms for this topic
 |  |

Providing shade that otherwise looks pretty bare land.
 |  |

Alene how about upchuck
 |  |
Arlene, add 'boot' to the list.
 |  |
Arlene - You seem to be acquiring a good list - how about 'spew'?
 |  |
mAen all
have a good weekend all
 |  |
Good afternoon to all! Is that tree blowing bubbles??
 |  |
4:18
Another verse...
Kookaburra sits on the telegraph wire
Jumping up & down coz his pants are on fire
laugh...
 |  |
Alene - down under we often call a good vomit a 'chunder'
 |  |
hubby just yelled out to Alene: Barry Humphries'(hope you've heard of him) character Barry Mackenzie decribed it as a 'technicolour yawn'
 |  |
Alene, On my first fishing trip out of Westport I became very seasick and learned what it meant to chum the fish.
 |  |
Alene - there's hork, retch, heave, toss your cookies... oh yeah, don't forget - liquidating your assets or ordering up a street pizza

cool tree :) I love trees, except for the 2 old oaks my pool filter has to filter.
 |  |
Alene
Another one is 'hugging the toilet'
 |  |
Alene
chuck or chuck up - a reversal of KBs version - or if at sea feeding the fishies
 |  |
