That was a doozy! It took me longer to do that puzzle than I normally take on a hard.

Fantastic pic.

Looks like we have gone to the birds today.

Great picture (and pretty hard puzzle for me). Jim: A "squark" is a hypothetical "supersymmetric quark". A strange quark is just a strange quark.

Took me a while - but worth it. Definitely a "right place, right time" moment..

More colorful birds than any we have around here!

all.

Absolutely beautiful birds; unfortunately the authorities here want to destroy them and there is a fine for people who have them as pets and release them into the wild.

We feed all sorts of wild birds here; the 28 parrots are prolific and we also see the More...

Beautiful rainbow color birds. Wish we could see them down here, I doubt that they would like our snow.

Jim/Jupiter, 'squark' was a collective noun that I simply invented because it resembled the noise these parrots make. I wasn't trying to be scientific in any way - fair go mate.
This is an old photo from early last year and has been on before - but I still like it.

Good afternoon to all! That was a very tough medium, but it was worth the effort to see Ian's beautiful picture again!

Ian, I was joking about 'squark' I figured it was a word based in the sound they made. And to my physicist friend, who knows a strange quark from a hypothetical supersymetric squark, I say:

Good puzzle.
Did anyone see the 'Australia Land of Parrots' on TV. I didn't realise how many were endangered. One species down to just one farm in Aus.

Ian and Jim,
What about a squabble of seagulls?
06/May/08 12:47 PM
 |  |

Broni, that's a great thought.
Jim, I too, wasn't serious. I don't claim to understand Quantum Physics and at my age, nor do I need to.
Linda, it was a great show, I really enjoyed it. I do hope we can share it with our friends from other places. We are very fortunate in Australia to have so many beautiful parrots.

4:20 Sluggish. May be I stayed up too late last night watching hockey?

Dunno about squarks or squabbles, but squiggles are frequently used in math notation :-).
