Interesting start to the day today - through my kitchen window I saw an early bus stop where it shouldn't and heard screams. Held my breath for a few seconds and then exhaled when the bus started up again, I thought it was just kids mucking around. d2 came running out of her bedroom (she had a More...

Linda - Finally you surface!! Missing you too as well as in the chatroom just! xx

billy - I know what you mean about crunchy banana's, they don't make them like they used to do. I've saved the poetry to a blue folder for later perusal and perhaps send it to a publisher to see if it has merit!! xx

Yes, MizT, as Kate and Suzy will confirm its been hot and humid for several days. You walk outside and are drenched in sweat about 2 minutes later. I much prefer dry days that can be even hotter without so much discomfort! I can better stand the feeling of walking into a kiln than this humidity!

Totally agree with you Kate - it's no better here in Qld. Hot and humid. Temps only low 30's - but humidity - yecchhhh!

Mamacita, earlier this week I had to sign on every time I wanted to comment, assume is still ironing out the problems with the site.

Angie(W) said earlier that although she lives in a cold climate, she still heads further north for a holiday in the cold. I must admit that although I live in a hot humid climate, my idea of a relaxing holiday is still at the hot humid beaches in Queensland.

CynB do you want the mildew that comes with it?

Er, no thanks, we've got that with the small amount of rain we've had. We have a sandstone retaining wall in our backyard - covered in mould - Colin has got to gurney it with bleach (without spraying the plants). Looks like they've had a tough time in Emerald and Rocky.

back Linda and with the hard work you have ahead of you, we have surely missed you. Claire hope you have a wonderful day.

Well as my dear old aunt would say - Hoo Roo - I'm going to get some work done.

Note, Ian, you might like that one for your page turning Woo Hoo rhymes.

CynB, you'd be better off pressure cleaning it with water only. Once it's all clean and dry you might be able to paint it with silicone (it's clear) which will stop future mould for years. We have to do that with rocks around gardens. I'm off to do some work too.

Ame... I don't know about icebergs, but my husband would love to visit Antarctica. I think it would be fascinating and very beautiful, but I am not that fond of ice and snow, so I guess if he ever gets there, he'll be going on his own - or perhaps with middle child, who also loves cold climates.

Susan/Qld, With all the problems Gath currently has, I'd hesitate asking for anything new right now...Perhaps later. The signing in is no big deal if I check prior to commenting right now.
Claire, I hope you have a great birthday! Since I forgot to check beforehand, visualize cake, flowers and balloons spelling out greetings for you. :) :0 :)

Tricia - we have NOTHING like Ground Hog Day - we just kind of ooze into spring in this part of Oz, though I do have a physical spring detector (when the days start getting longer, I feel euphoric and have been known to shout "spring's here!!!")

Mamacita, I'd mentioned in an earlier post that I was aware of Gath being busy with site problems, so of course I was planning to ask him later. For now I was trying to see if others would also like that feature. If nobody else thinks it's a good idea, I won't ask him at all.
