I'm sorry, but Brisbane is not getting a water pipeline from Tyalgum / Eungella without one hell of a fight. I think it was the Gold Coast that was supposed to get our water, though, rather than Brisbane, but that would have meant losing our entire community. People in our immediate area would either be forced to go or would be isolated from civilisation. Not happening!

Martha, I think you'll find CynB was joking about a pipeline from my area. We have more than enough water to share, but the cost of a pipeline is supposedly astronomical. Now I AM getting back to work.

You're right Martha. This is all 20 years or more of poor planning by our Govt. They build dams in places that get no rainfall - what do they expect? Where I live, we actually get our water from a lake on Stradbroke Island and the southern part of Redlands is not hugely populated so we're More...

Susan, thank you, that was reassuring, though there is a federal govt report dated April last year that recommends damming (or damning if you prefer) our area and piping water to the Gold Coast - just the thought of it raises my hackles (water tanks, water tanks, water tanks...)

Martha, they'll forget about it now that GC dam is full. It will rear it's ugly head again in a few years when the dam gets low. That's Govt thinking, isn't it?

Oh, I see. I was supposed to list 5 places I want to go? Canada again. So gorgeous. I've wanted to go to Australia since I was about 8 years old. That would be a dream come true. It's the only foreign country that I really really want to see. There's several states in the Northeast I want to see. And of course, I want to get to Florida to see the giant rat.

My daughter flew over the Grand Canyon in a helicopter - she loved it - but had to ring me (and her father) in Aus straight afterwards so that we knew she was OK. She was 19 and still tells people of the embarrassment that her parents caused her.
