I'm back from my walk/run (oh, the humidity--had to burn the clothes ...) only to find my birthday party has started without me! We've got ice cream and cake (and Viagra, for when the festivities begin to degenerate) ... I guess since I'm the hostess, I'll provide a case or two of Niagara reisling. Can we count on Greg to arrive fashionably late in gold lame?

everyone. I am happy to report that I did my best to introduce Fiona's kids to the American way of life last night. They swam in the pool with Ebony, & we had traditional backyard cookout type food. It wasn't as good as sticks over a campfire, but we did use barbecue skewers More...

Well, four correct responses to the 'quickie' riddle yesterday. Well done Jane, Kathy (Fl), Kathy (Md) and Plum for answering Pavlov. You all win a doggie treat, and Kathy (Fl), since I'm sure Ebony gave you the answer, you get two dog treats. Woof! Woof!

The only cow in a small Alberta (Canada) village stopped giving milk. The people did some research and found that they could buy a cow just across the provincial border in Saskatchewan for $200. They bought the cow from Saskatchewan and the cow was wonderful. It produced lots of milk all of the More...

Enjoyed your YouTube, CG. "Hair" was an extraordinary experience (or "happening" as we used to say). "Good Morning, Starshine" from "Hair", is Jaime's and my song!

There has been over 1.800 wildfires in British Columbia so far this summer. My daughter Kelly remains safe in Kelowna as the fires there are mostly contained. The latest fire is at Whistler on the opposite side of where the 2110 Winter Olympic Village has been erected. So far, the Olympic sites are safe. I sure wish I could send all our rain out to the west coast.

CynB, so sorry to hear of your and Colin's bout with the Swine flu, and, at the same time, so relieved to know you're on the road to recovery.

Thanks Keith - it's been nearly 2 weeks now and I should qualify that by saying 'probably swine flu' as the doctor put it because these days they are not testing for it anymore (Why? I don't know), but the doctor thinks by the symptoms it probably is. Whatever, it hasn't been fun for either of us.
