Jerry, although I agree with you that illegal immigration is a huge problem for the US, I think that another part of the issue is penalizing companies that hire illegal immigrants.

We're on our way back home today. Our timing for being away was impeccable. We had over 2 feet of snow and no electricity for more than 24 hours while we were gone. Our daughter reports that conditions are still icy, but gradually improving. Digging our way up the driveway should be fun! Stay warm, Angie, and all of you in the storm's path.

I have to agree with sending back the illegals.... although many of our jobs are no longer actually here in the States so it's a very different situation. Tech jobs have mostly gone overseas. You'd think medical jobs would stay here but even some of those are going overseas - for example, reading x-rays can be done on a computer in another country. Scary!

I agree that there are consequences, Jerry, and I agree that people should consider the impact of their decisions. But they don't always do so.

What do you do with the six-year old child, born on US soil, of illegal immigrants about to be deported?

1. Keep the family together.
2. IF there are legal, self-supporting relatives in country, fine, they can raise the child.
3. If there are no SELF-SUPPORTING relatives in the country - #1 applies.
