I'm with you Barbara (from TEXAS)

or where

Gath:
Can I please have an exemption? I usually do it at work & I really don't want to scare the natives!!

My last post ended up on a different page.

I'm with Gath and Vic. I also work on construction sites from time to time, and am all too used to hearing foulmouthed people (male and female). Sites such as this one, open to children, should be kept 'clean.' English is an exceptionally rich language, it's far more fun to be creative with it than to rely on a few words for emphasis. (a la WC Fields!)

LK, the gathering of international Sudoku-ists sounds great, but would prefer it to be in Hawaii, as it's a little closer and easier to get to than Vegas, not to mention a little prettier...

Mornin' all - just got the news that my 4yr old grand daughter fell yesterday, causing her to be sick and become listless. She was taken to hospital, which is about an hour away from her home, where she stayed for about four hours and was diagnosed as having mild concussion. She was allowed to More...

HUGH: I am so glad that your grandaughter is OK! Very scary situation. Prayers will continue for her recovery.

A challenge to Beehive.
Beehive, I challenge you to post as often, long & lyrical as like on this site for one whole week without using any expletives. A thesauris is a handy tool! I think s * x can probably be exempted. That is a word that is quit acceptable even in the politest of society.
Are you up to it?
 |  |
Hugh--I hope your grand-daughter is doing better. I also had a simular experience with my daughter last year. It is frustrating when you know something is very wrong but it is hard to get doctors to listen to you. Hope she is feeling herself soon.
 |  |
I agree, Kat from California

my opinion on this subject is as follows;
we do not need to swear to express ourselves. yes many jokes are full of profanities and maybe funny but this is not the forum to post such jokes. our normal speech does not require us to use such words to relate how we feel or what we wish to More...

Hugh
wow you have all had a rough night. pleased to hear your little grandaughter is ok this morning after such a nasty accident. my thoughts are with you all that she makes a quick recovery as most kids seem to.

I'm trying andre, I want him out I've had enough, but everything I've tried hasn't worked ... any more suggestions?
 |  |
Mickey - tell him the football's on the TV - it's the only thing that gets the men in my house moving ! ! ! ! ! !

Mary ...southern ontario
hope your daughter is coping okay, I have been in that position where I was to be induced on a certain day and then it was put off and it is a really unhappy place to be. the second day when the doctor thought he might delay it I suggested that it may be over his dead body .......... he induced me!!!
hope all goes well soon , mary

Nah, MICKEY ... don't try so hard!! Love to you and the baby.

TO aone and ap and families

My thoughts and sympathies are with you after hearing the shocking news of bomb blasts. ap - I had a look at the map to see where you are in relation to the blasts - long way away - that's good. I'm sure you've both got friends and relatives near Mumbai - my thoughts and prayers are with you both for their safety.

I'm so happy to hear you granddaughter is alright now. I think sometimes hospitals should take more care in their prognosis of their patients, my son was sent home from emergency with a collapsed lung when he was 6 months old.
 |  |
Hugh - Hope that your grand-daughter is over the worst and has a speedy recovery and give her teddy a kiss too x

Mickey - I can think of one or two but not on 'air' so to speak! Guess you have tried that! Try a long walk followed by curry, followed by a hot soak in the bath, followed by a More...

vlc, I see nothing that I have written as being nasty, only as what I feel I have the right to say. No swearing, no abuse, just stating that I really don't care who posts or doesn't post, and people trying to push their values on me by insisting that they are right, are boring and self centred. I More...

Hello All !!
 |  |
I was getting worried Baz. You went very quiet. I have to say you appear to be a very balanced individual. You seem to have a chip on both shoulders. Are you a 'vertically challenged' person of the male gender by any chance?
 |  |
Haven't commented for quite a while -- lots of strong opinions of late. Agree with Gath about the language on site. Don't jump down my throat you 'freedom of speech-ers', that's just one gal's opinion. Good evening to all.
 |  |
Pete From the west - has it right. Beehive is fighting for freedom of speech even if he does use a bit of colour in his missives.

Anyway read your Bible: Kings 2 chapter 18 verse 27

Thank you all for your kind thoughts - I'll keep you posted if there are any changes. Oh! and on the bear too!!!!

Part of the problem is that it took her two years to grow any hair worth talking about - but at least she'll still be around to grow some more - that's the good bit!!!
 |  |
Judy - Welcome back. I thought for a while there that you had taken over the site. There were so many comments you could have held a conversation with yourself.

I must go and catch a trout - it's been ages since the last time. Lake Eucumbene is down to 35% so there's not so much water between the fish - best chance in a while. There are only have browns and rainbows in Eucumbene.

No vlc, what makes you ask that? I would hope that you are not generalising there? As a matter of fact I know a few short people who are quite pleasant. I was married to one for some time actually. And I will try to ignore the outright sexist inuendo, as I feel that it is undignified!

But More...

did one in 1:00 exactly! yeah! any one beat that be sure to tell the world.

First, I agree that linguistic usage and any limits upon it are a serious topic and worthy of serious discussion.

As to Gath's exercise of the site owner's privilege to filter the language, I find myself in agreement: it's his football. That privilege notwithstanding, it is also quite fair More...
