I thought for sure several would have pounced before I had a chance to post. Okay, now I'll see who made it.

1:57 Wonder if that dog needs to floss to get the corn out from between his teeth ... I've had cats who eat doughnuts, ice cream, yogurt, cheese popcorn, and french fries, but none of them have approached anything resembling a salad.
A sunny, warm day here but the grass is still too wet for me to cut it--trying to impress my husband.

Whew. Glad that's over for today. What work. Congrats to Sue. I still that that's the prettiest avatar I've ever seen. I'm going to go eat something.

Morning Jamie, how are you doing??
Any rain down there, we have had 5 iinches in the last 2 days. So unlike August cool temps. and rain.

Maen all! Just about all of my dogs love corn on the cob. We had some recently and my mannerless puppy, Angel, stole 2 ears off of the table! I one had a Collie who was mad over spinach. She wouldn't let any of the others share a single bite. We called her "Crazy Julie". For many other reasons, too.

Cute picture! It seems that all of our dogs and cats have enjoyed some types of fruits and veggies. Currently they all love corn, and the cats are crazy about steamed broccoli and asparagus! Our dog even eats tangerines! (I'm sure he wouldn't have done this on his own, but since we More...

Did you catch Angel with his/her paws in the cookie jar picnic table?

Sue - we have just barely gotten the edge of the rain. Last week they were predicting 3 - 5 inches, we got a quarter inch. Last night they said maybe an inch, but I don't think we will get that much. Anything is welcome, though.
My Mocha loves crunchy vegetables - lettuce spines, broccoli, carrots - she also loves tomatoes.

Yes, for some odd reason, my like to eat my little spider plant. Poor thing looks straggly with over half its leaves chewed up. It will never grow big because Nemmy keeps pruning it back!

shosho - Mocha (dog) loves to chew on Jeanie's flowers. It obviously doesn't please her very much!

Houpette likes nothing better in September/October when the grapes are ripe in the vineyards than to take her daily walk there. She jumps up and helps herself to a few grapes at a time directly from the vine, and prefers white to red.

GannieMo, they tell us here grapes are a "no-no" for dogs & cats. Toxic to them, I guess.

Hi all! Chalkboard, you can now come out of the naughty corner, all is forgiven!! Yesterday's riddle brought forth huge long explanations to my inbox, some of which lost me, so here is the official correct answer -

Now all those who participated must agree that the official answer is short, clear and concise, n'est-ce pas? So I can only assume you ALL got it wrong!!! (joking, really!!!)

Now a word for Judy who very kindly offered to lob a lump of pumice over the pond in this direction - my dear I have always been under the impression that pumice stone was needed only by those who have hard scaly bits on their feet - not having any of these would mean pumice is the last thing I would require, thank you.

Judy, on the other hand, might care to give her tongue a rub with some....

Gee, every time Nemmy wants to wake me up to feed her in the morning, she licks my face - feels like pumice! So does that mean she's giving me a facial exfoliation?

I try again...A certain mathematician, his wife, and their teenage son all play a fair game of chess. One day when the son asked his father for 10 dollars for a Saturday night date, his father puffed his pipe for a moment and replied, "Let's do it this way. Today is Wednesday. You will play a More...

My wife's poodle mix used to hang around me any time I ate a pear. She would eat the pear core. She also loved it when we accidentally dropped a slice of radish on the floor.

Shosho, I can't keep a spider plant in the house--Spike shreds them then regurgitates, brute that he is. Philodendrons have to be kept up out of his way as well. P.S. Am I too late for coffee?

Ahhh, Jane, that was so cute, Kind of choked up on the close relationship of Bart. At the end the out takes were so funny. Reminded me of how cooperative my is. Hey when I tried to find her smilie, I noticed it's between the "foot in the mouth" smilie and the "Oops!" smilie. Rather appropriate for her!

How true, Eve! I have never had a problem getting an appointment the next, or sometimes the same day, at the vet's. But I have certainly waited weeks to see a doctor!!
13/Aug/08 7:29 AM

If your country is anything like France the bill at the vets is about 3 times that at the doctoers office.
In my next life I am going to be either a Veterinary Surgeon, a Lawyer or a Pharmacist. These three always seem to have the best offices and/or homes in each town.

Eve, it'd be variable in Australia. My second broken ankle was operated on about 10 hrs after I broke it, but I'd gone to the hospital by ambulance. The 1st one was operated 2 days after it was broken. But I'd say in most instances it'd still be faster at the vets for your pet!

That's the same scenario here, Gannie MoYou. You can take out health insurance for your pet here, but it is SO expansive that unless you know your pet is going to need it often, you're safer saving the money & just paying the high price at the time!

Is it 5 for a CP? Years ago we had a Kelpie (dog) that loved macadamia nuts - she used to pull them off the lower branches of our tree, get off the outer husk with her teeth & claws then crack the nut case by rolling around between her jaws & crunching down till it had split. After this More...

Houpette loves pistachios and enjoys cracking the shells. She's always eaten grapes , nuts and potato chips (chilli flavour) and as she will be 16 years old in 6 weeks I don't think they have done her much harm. She;s eaten the odd bit of chocolate too.
