You're talking about games from youth. Remember that game where every turn you must add something to a recited list but also remember and say everything everyone else has said?

And the adding-another-thing songs of my youth also fascinated me, like Farmer in the Dell, or the Twelve Days of Christmas.

Rayray - haven't heard of those variations on the theme. But I did like the Twelve Months of Fruitcake.
Now, I like fruitcake, but the song (again, from my youth) extolls the opportunities particular to every month in the year for getting rid of unwanted Christmas fruitcake. Finally all the fruitcake is gone and December comes ... (you guessed it) ... more fruitcake.

I didn't have any Christmas cake last year as with only 2 of us I get to eat a lot. Right now; I could just eat a slice with lots of marzipan and crisp icing, mmmm
