I wanted to be number 100 comment today. I think I am too early.

One of my snowmen collapsed today...I've freezered him for the time being. He looks as though he is a snma now as he has lost his 'ow' and 'n', losing one vowel is terrible but two consonants is a disaster for a snowman adjectively speaking.

I 'ran the puzzle,' 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9, in 1:46! Which is well below the 2:29 the site tells me is my best time. That only tells me the "personal statistics" portion of this site is not accurate, as I have broken 2:00 several times in the past before.

I like the photo of the dog today. It is in focus, the subject centered. The animal seems happy and doggish in his own homeyard. 3.5 out of 5.

I've just been comparing the Haiti quake with the 1906 Great San Francisco quake:

1906 - San Francisco - estimated Magnitude m7.5 to m8 - 3000 died of a population of about 400,000 - 28,000 buidings destroyed - 225,000 homeless.

2010 - Port au Prince - magnitude m.7 - estimated More...

After reading the paper this morning, I feel ashamed that Pat Robertson is an American. Who in their right mind would consider the devastation in Haiti "punishment for making a pact with the devil"?
Unbelievable.
16/Jan/10 3:20 AM
 |  |

I agree Kathy. A dreadful, evilangelical comment to make, especially as the disturbance went along the edge of the North American tectoninc plate in two days from California to Haiti. Is California where the devil lives?

Handsome beast, at best..... Whos beast is it?
16/Jan/10 3:35 AM
 |  |

By the way Kathy - if you are still there - : who is Pat Robertson?
16/Jan/10 3:36 AM
 |  |

Robertson is a Southern Baptist and was active as an ordained minister with that denomination for many years, but holds to a charismatic theology not traditionally common among Southern Baptists. He unsuccessfully campaigned to become the Republican Party's nominee in the 1988 presidential More...

Crash test 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air VS. 2009 Chevrolet Malibu

How does a 1959 car compare with a 2009 vehicle in a head-on collision? Watch the video:

Make room, ladies. I'm in the line for a spin around the floor with Jerry!
(Oh, and in my humble opinion, Pat Robertson IS the devil ... there's nothing Christian about him)
16/Jan/10 4:06 AM
 |  |

Cathy, Are you up for some spins & twirls?
16/Jan/10 4:09 AM
 |  |

re Kathy's cut and paste: "controversial" is the key word. Though I consider myself a conservative Christian - itself a misnomer because I define conservative and liberal differently than is common at present - P.R. doesn't speak for me. It would be inappropriate for me to publish any more of my opinion about him on this website.

Jerry - to keep passengers safer in a crash, today's cars are actually engineered to transfer the shock of impact into blowing apart the vehicle. The idea is that the energy of impact has to go somewhere and the vehicle and its various parts are more easily replaced than the human occupants are.

André, Oscar Wilde said it best:
"To lose one parent (vowel), Mr. Worthing (Mr. Snowman), may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose both (vowels) looks like carelessness."

André and Jeb, despite the loss of the vowels, I am quite earnest when I say that keeping a decomposing snma in a freezer is dangerous. Should a visiting house guest open the freezer and stumble across the remaining effects of the snowman, one could possibly be facing charges of negligence, More...

No sign of Frantic Fiona, so here's a puzzle for you:
