I'm not normally up at this time of night but we went to see the Australian Chamber Orchestra tonight, with Martin Fröst playing Mozart's Clarinet Concerto and it was absolutely wonderful. I considered myself to be quite a reasonable clarinettist in the day, but I've just had to reconsider!

Whew! What a week! Spent most of it preparing for the planned power outage, buying camp lanterns, cleaning out the frig and freezer, planning a second menu of frozen goods. Then living through the outage. And then recovering from it - grocery shopping!
17/Nov/13 3:07 AM
 |  |

On the day of the outage, I explained to my hubby that I prepared a cooler full of the foods he said he would need from the frig. That afternoon, he proudly showed me a glass of ice he had prepared before the outage but stored in the freezer. I simply closed my eyes and said, 'You knucklehead!'

shosho, sounds to me like 'hubby' has his priorities straight. Hey, without power, ice can be hard to come by.

But DorA.... you don't want to open the freezer during the outage, because you're trying to keep the cold in. Opening the freezer to take the ice out can cause food in the freezer to spoil.

That's why we have a generator. We don't use it often, but boy, when you need it, you need it!

Peter, I am sending every good thought, prayer and to Shikia. She is an amazing young lady. She seems to be showing the adults what courage is all about.

Nope, not using the wheelchair. Just crutches. The bruise is up to 10'' x 6'', and has lightened to a lovely plum color, with grape colored speckles.

Morning all,yes girls it is that time of the year again.
My youngest grandson's partner has done all her Xmas shopping and wanted to put up the tree last month, we told her it was bad luck to put it up before December 1st.

Peter, it sounds like Shikia has plenty of fighting spirit & is enveloped in loving support. That is a good basis for the Docs to work their magic.

Went back to yesterday to catch up. Shikia is amazing. Nothing could be better than a positive, fighting attitude. Sending what support I can.

Hal, I like your idea of leaving the ends alone and messing around with the middle. Perhaps you could do some both ways, removing letters or adding More...

My idea about disembowelers is not going to be as easy as I thought. However, I do have enough for a puzzle next week. After that, I may have to get rather creative.

And they can be used both ways, i.e., subtract letters or add letters.
