Contrary to popular opinion, the color of hydrangea flowers is not directly affected by soil pH. Rather, the key factor is the availability of aluminum. Acidic conditions convert the aluminum compounds normally present in the soil into a form that the shrub can absorb, resulting in a blue flower. In alkaline soil, the aluminum remains tied up in insoluble compounds. The result? Pink flowers.

Fire Bloss, here you can buy a kit at Nurserys to make the Hydrangeas turn blue, but you need to start applying it in the autumn and do it every couple of weeks. I am sure they would have similar over there. HH, I think it does have sulphur in it. Mine are still pink Those are lovely, what my dear old would call 'grannies bonnets'

well maybe the chemicals in the kit convert the aluminium compounds ? lol
