Rayray, As a fellow English person, what is your definition of "International time"? Greenwich Mean Time perhaps? If not, at what time (GMT) did the NZ arthquake strike?

Bob: Yes GMT = UTC = International time.
I think it struck at 8.55am. I shall check and report back if I mistaken. UTC is more widely understood scientifically these days.

I was wrong; it struck at 7.55 not 8.55

GMT waves the British flag, whilst UTC waves the UN flag.
