Oh, Ed, the breed of the dog is quite a mixed lot. Blue heeler - colouring proves that, Kelpie, dingo, and anything else that may have jumped the fence over the past 6 or 7 generations of station dogs. For a rough head station dog he is very big. Probably because he was well fed as a pup, though the steroids may have had some effect. (Just joking about the steroids)

Ute is short for utility, but I don't know anyone who actually calls them that. They are very popular with young men here, as the panel van was back in the 70s/80s.
