I had a wonderful time with my niece. She came to help me prepare for today, chopping up vegetable and making dishes that could be made ahead of time. But at the same time we discussed the essays she had to write in her application for law school. Golly I wish I had a daughter. Well, luckily for me my DILs and nieces fill the gap.

Good Morning everyone and Happy Thanksgiving, I am the only one stirring in my daughter's apt. One roommate is gone, Emily and the other one are still sleeping, I have already made cinnamon rolls for breakfast (by the time they get up the dinner will be done!) have the pumpkin pie in the oven, I remember when I could sleep the morning away!

Good work, Linda! Do you have extra cinnamon rolls for us?
Shosho - I have the same fun with my niece (28) and find it such a blessing to have that relationship without having a daughter of my own.

Shosho - my avatar is in honor of your brothers today!
I also want to extend my heartfelt prayers to those suffering in Mumbai and to their families.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone celebrating today! My Turkey is in the oven baking!

My thoughts and prayers are with the people in India and the people who were visiting there. I just don't understand how people can be so cruel.

It may seem strange that we celebrate a Harvest Thanksgiving in late November. Here is why:

We love long weekends - Thanksgiving has become a 4 day weekend - because Thursday is a key component of the National Holiday. We have moved other Holidays that were Dates (like Memorial Day) to be celebrated on Monday - so we can have 3 day weekends.

On this day we can thank the More...

3:05 Everything is in the oven or refrig awaiting the trip "over the river and through the woods to Grandmother's house." I know Canada has a Thanksgiving holiday. How about other nations? A day set aside to thank and praise the Lord who made us and who provides for us and protects us and More...
