Jim, I'm disappointed. I'll up my offer to $30 and I want you to think more about knitting. Think of all the little booties you could make for the turtles and tortoises you rescue. Think of how good they would feel with those little booties on. Knit for the benefit of amphibian life! Turtle Tootsies.... I can see the market advantage world-wide!

One bright morning in the middle of the night,
Two dead boys got up to fight.
Back to back they faced each other,
Drew their swords and shot each other.

Now the deaf policeman heard this noise,
And went and shot those two dead boys.
If you don't believe this lie is true....
Just ask the blind man - he saw it, too!

As a senior citizen was driving down the freeway, his car phone rang. Answering, he heard his wife’s voice urgently warning him, “Herman, I just heard on the news that there’s a car going the wrong way on the 401. Please be careful!”
“It’s not just one car,” said Herman. “It’s hundreds of them!”

Have a lovely day, everyone. Melbourne Cup day today in Oz - the reace that stops a nation! A bit cooler than the 38 degrees C we had yesterday. We unfortunately live just on the wrong side of the border between Victoria and NSW and so do not get the day off! So... I'm off to work - the only person in my family to do so today! Ow, that hurts.

Greg, I always heard this stanza that came before the one you posted:

Ladies and gentlemen, hobos and tramps,
I stand before you and sit behind you
to tell you something I know nothing about!
Admission is free, you must pay at the door;
So pull up a chair and sit on the floor.
The show is over, but before you go,
let me tell you a story I don't really know :

Kathy why have you become a crab?? Is this a new tendency in Maryland? Has this replaced the bat? Your crab looks a bit thick.

Oh, you are tired, Fiona.
Once again... I live near the Chesapeake Bay. The area is famous for Maryland blue crabs. You'd look thick too if you were heading for a pot to be steamed!

I present, for your enjoyment, a bushel of steamed Maryland blue crabs. And, before you say it, yes, they turn red when cooked. Add Old Bay seasoning, and you have a taste of Maryland's finest!

There are certainly limits set for commercial crabbers, a necessity if the crabs are to make a come back. As usual, they were over fished (crabbed?) with no regard to the future. Because of the scarcity, the prices are high, but you can buy them at seafood places. Individuals can still go crabbing More...

Kathy, before you blame the fishermen, please take a look at what has happened to the Chesapeake watershed over the past 20-50 years. Population has more than doubled since 1950.
