I have always thought that any horse good enough to qualify to run in the Kentucky Derby is good enough to win it. There just aren't many super horses like Secretariat to try to beat.

They're too lazy Kathy...and too well fed!

But they sure could make a run for it if they tried!

Hey.... You remembered that my husband had part ownership of an Artsplace son!!!! I'm impressed, saylz. I wish you great luck with your unborn foal. You deserve it after losing that mare. I once lost a Roberto granddaughter to a freak accident.... she leaped up into a tree and broke her neck.

I don't know.... the lowest branch was 10 feet off the ground.

Ok, Heidi, if the average horse is 14 to 18 hands at the withers, that's about 5 to 6 feet. To make it to the lowest branch the horse would have had to jump another six feet up. What was it thinking?!?!?

This was a five month old filly, too. A lot shorter.

I didn't know a horse could jump that high, Heidi.

I need to find a dog/ farm/ house sitter to be able to go. The memorial service won't be for a week or 2, but it's an 8 hour drive from here.

The day has just been topped of with Emily's Ballet school, placing 1st in the Neo/Contemporary Classical troupe at comps this evening. I'm sooooo proud of Emily and the whole troupe.
