We still have snow on the ground but it is the ice on the streets I don't like. With the snow and ice we didn't go anywhere on Christmas day. Driving on the ice was a challenge but slow and cautious got us where we needed to go.

Hi Sue,
I'm making a change to my dessert at New Year's Eve dinner.
The argument is that comice-pears go well with blue-cheese.
Accordingly I am experimenting with combining a soft, creamy blue-cheese (dolcelatta), with the black muscat wine, and then filling halved pears with that; and instead of serving with cream I am using plain ice-cream.
I think that will be superb.

GMo:
One of our cats went missing once. It had got locked in a neighbour's garage.
A friend of mine had workmen in and the cat went missing. It turned up nailed beneath the floor-boards some days afterwards - emaciated but OK. Keep thinking where, GMo. Where have you been around the house? Somewhere unusual where it might be trapped?

Heck, Judy, if it crawls, swims, sits, even vegetates in the ocean, it will find its way on a Japanese dinner table!
I took my mom to an aquarium and as we viewed the different tanks, she kept saying, "I wonder if we can get that one for dinner, I wonder how much that one would cost?" I had to explain that these were for viewing not for eating!!!
