As far as the second big topic, the "Friends" issue, I'm going to take a stand with Jeb, Jane, & Judy (hmmm, three J's!!) & choose NOT to participate in that option. At first I was flattered to receive requests to be listed as a "Friend", & then, of course, thought More...

Good to know none of our Sudokuists have been affected by the earthquake.
Jane - did your tennis get rained out?
Heidi - to Murphy! I think that's a great name for a llama. What zoo did you work at before you started your own? Are you feeling any better this evening?

How's Murphy doing, Heidi? And BTW...how are you feeling?

Shosho?! (twiddles hearing aid to improve ear and to stop ear-ringing) - What's all this about a horse honking? and then you say something about a bonking duck. Never heard the likes before. And the duck that goes around trying to kiss strangers. Are all ducks libertine in USA or is just in California? Disgraceful state of affairs!

G-Mo:
What on earth is an 'Indian runner duck'. Does duck in India give you the runs? You should duck that one for heaven's sake. You shouldn't eat off duck that give you the runs.

I'm posting this under jokes just so more people will read it and, hopefully, work harder at showing our children and grandchildren there CAN be a middle ground if BOTH sides work toward it.
[Also, it is rather funny]

What's all this about ducks (was it 'ducks' you said? - twiddles hearing aid) that do their doos. Why do they have to be cross to do their doos?

The earthquake today was located in Chino Hills, close to Pomona. I'm closer to it than Vici but felt just a little of it. 4.02 this morning. Thought I was quick so I don't know how you can get much faster. Do you guys play music by ear. I can't do that either. Took wife to see Mamma Mia last night. Best feel good movie we've seen in years. Pity Pierce Brosnan can't sing. Great day everyone.

As for coffee, best news ever, is that Starbucks is closing nearly all of its stores in Australia. I don't think I've ever tasted worse coffee. I'll change my YouTube to something suitably abba-ism.

Dorthea's post reminded me of what I heard on the radio on the way to work. The DJ was talking about a litter of puppies half St Bernard and half Dashund. It became hysterical as callers theorized how this might have happened since the mother was the St Bernard and the father was the dashund! Best explanation included the use of a step stool!

Saylz, I agree with you, Starbuck coffee taste like some kind of bitter chemical! But their cafe mocha's and frappichinos are great.

saylz & shosho - Finally, I've found others who don't like Starbucks! I was beginning to think I was alone in the universe! I like my coffee strong, but Starbucks coffee tastes burnt to me. I like a medium roast Columbian coffee the best. I don't care at all for the dark roast.

I have never had coffee in Starbucks, but most coffee now-a-days is not good. I don't like burnt beans.

I don't suppose you can get it outside Australia but we always go for the organically grown coffee from the Atherton Tablelands which is behind Cairns in Far North Queensland. It actually is like the Colombian Blend only slightly smoother. I don't like the burnt taste either.
