Received an endearing email this morning.

A story about a rather foolish Mallard, that is lucky to have friends.

The story is in pictures, so I have loaded the photos and comments that go with the photos in my gallery.

I hope it brings as big a to you as it did to me. Cheers to all.

It's taken me all day, on & off to get through today's easy page! I did take notes as I went, but now I don't have time to make them! I enjoyed most of the goings on though & am glad (as far as people here think) that no one's been hurt! Jane I missed my tennis yesterday due to rain, too!

Hello everyone - I'm not too sure of this new feature but thank you for the people who have added me to their "friend" list.
I, like others, have switched off the notify square as I sometimes (like now but now very often) check out the site while I'm at work and don't have time to chat.
Cheers all!

09.12 here and I have had a dreadful night I think we need a good old fashioned thunderstorm to clear the air. It is very heavy and humid. Think I may go back to bed. I haven't had any alcohol for over a week(only virtual drinks with friends here) but I have that bad hangover feeling. I will try to sleep, that is if Sammi will leave my toes alone.

Just thought I'd post once at an unusual time for me. It is 12:30 AM here in California right now. I'm getting a feeling for what it is like to post after midnight like all you folks down under do if you want to be on page 1. For me, this time of the year, page 1 happens around 7-8 AM. Part of More...

The beginnings of rolling thunder can be heard in our yard and the branches on the surrounding trees are starting to waver in the ever increasing movement of air. I hope the storm doesn't pass too far away, the air here needs a good washing. Ten minutes ago all was bright with morning light now I have turned on the lamp and the cars passing ourside have their headlights on and it is only 09.30.

Hey Gmo, is Sammi nibbling your toes, thought you were going back to get some well deserved rest? Hope the weather breaks for you.

I am but I love storm watching from inside a dry cosy house but I think all electronics will have to be turned off shortly. Even though we have special plugs and breakers. I.m not quite as bad as my mum was, she would run round the house and pull out the plugs for everything.

Cat and dog both fast asleep ignoring the outside goings on. Seems like I'm going to get that weather break that last one was very close, bye for now

Take care, Mo.
We have similar weather heading across the harbour (which you are familiar with) right now. It's just about to pour and we have hail and thunder forecast with very high tides.

P.S. I also love thunder and lightning storms.

G-Mo:
We, on the S.coast of England, also had a fierce electrical storm about 36 hours ago. The rain was monsoonal, and the violent thunder/lighning more or less continuous. It suddenly crashed my computer at one point, and damaged my internet connection software until remedied; despite my More...

Wow, Rayray that really does sound monsoonal.
The storm that never was has passed by. We had the thunder and lightening and the power cut outs but the rain bypassed us, probably on its way south to Fiona.
The sun is now shining and although there is a thin cloud cover the blue sky is peeking More...

Hi Anne yes I remember the harbour. I should imagine seeing a storm pass through there would be sensational - as long as one was somewhere dry and protected so the camera didn't get wet!!!

The gum-leaf in Billy's tea sounds like a euphemistic understatement - how about the leeches, water boatmen, 'squito larvae, dead pondweeds and water hyacynth - most of them heavily disguised by the tea-leaves. Of course, all these impart an interesting nuance to the flavour and add to the romance of camping in the Oz bush.

Yes G-Mo; rain cleans up and clarifies the atmosphere (good for photography) but it also makes it clammy through the increased humidity.

All these examples do NOT imply that petrol is cheap; it just illustrates how outrageous some prices are.
You will be really shocked by the last one (at least, I was)!!!

Think a litre of petrol is expensive?

This makes you think, and also puts things into perspective.
