Suzanne/Seattle--sorry to hear of your recent life changes. I don't have any words of wisdom, but can only offer long distance moral support as you go thru this difficult time...there are lots of people here who have gotten to know and love you on this site and wish you well...hugs...

Don't forget the kitchen sink drain trap, Nal

Suzanne:
I congratulate you truly for your courage. I have not been a good friend to you, because I have been dealing with my own situation and have not given enough support to you.
Faraway, I think about you and wish God to give you strenght to cope with these first times. There is not too much consolation: only to face these days.
 |  |
On the other hand, my friend, be sure that one day you will smile again.
You are a bright, intelligent, sensitive, creative human being. One of these days one very nice gentleman will come along and find out that you are the best girlfriend/wife he could ever dream about!!!!

Looks like shrimp on the barbie to me!

2:56 Good Maen, all.

2:22 but I have no idea what the picture is of.

My best wishes go out to you for a wonderful new life, I'm sending love and hugs. Keep busy for awhile, look for new adventures -- a good game of Sudoku can keep your mind off present challenges.

Dear Suzanne,
Thinking twice, Steph from Kansas is right and gave you a good advice. I suppose the best thing is to talk and talk about the situation, allowing your pain to come out. It's bad to keep it inside. Go out if you can, contact people... keep in mind that, if you feel a loss, your ex-to-be is feeling the same... what a pity that he didn't appreciate such a wonderful person as you are!

Thanks Steph, Aileen, and Helen (shoreline? as in north of Seattle shoreline?), and Morgana..for the advice. Morgana, I miss you and have been thinking of you alot. I hope you are coming to some kind of resolution with your situation. I think I am going to go to some estate sales today to look for More...

Good mAen to all. Hope this day is rewarding for all. As school is about to start in the different states, I wish all returning teachers and students a wonderful year, much success and lots of patience during the rough times.Kim/Fl. I will certainly miss you and your adventures with the tractor, but look forward to the schooldventures you are sure to have.

Nal: I certainly wish you good luck in the search for the ring. I pray that it shows up.I can relate to the desire to have put it away, yet not wanting to take that from your mom too. My aunt lost the beautiful stone out of her ring, but enjoyed or needed to wear the ring anyway. If you can't find More...

Suzanne From Seattle; change your daily routines as much as possible. Give yourself time to grieve. Focus on the positive changes that are occurring and write them down. Add to your list as stuff pops into your head. For some reason, visualizing the good changes makes it a bit easier.
When all More...

Thanks Mamacita! I am thinking about getting her a plain gold band. The one lost is a beautiful ring. It was custom made so there are not two alike, and at today's prices, it would cost a small (tiny) fortune to have it replicated!
I keep thinking it will turn up in the least place expected! The only thing it would bother me to no end is to think that someone took it.

Suzanne: When a marriage is broken, no matter the reasons, it is often necessary to mourn the loss of a lifestyle, as you would a death. Steph had it right, talk, stay busy and time are the biggest help long term. Short term is just what you are doing, redecorate, fill the empty holes with new More...

Suzzane, in a lighter note: Don't forget:
When life gives you lemons, buy tequila and salt.

I don't remember who recommended 'The Kite Runner'when I asked for book suggestions, but I'm almost finished it and have been really enjoying it. Thanks a million. Sorry I can't remember who it was, so that I could direct this comment by name.Just know that I appreciate it.
 |  |
You go Nal...Always the right advice!
 |  |
The Kite Runner is a fabulous book! I hope they do a good job when they make a movie out of it. House of Sand and Fog was another immigrant book set in the Bay Area, and they did a fabulous job with the movie. It's very rare that I like the movie better than the book, but in that case I did.

Dear Suzanne,'there is a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to tear down and a time to build': hope the first time passed by quickly! You are a lovely and courageous lady, je vous embrasse bien fort avec toute mon amitiƩ;
Nal I remember for a longtime your lemon-councel!

Marha, I couldn't agree with you any more about this being a fabulous book. Now I must try HOUSE OF SAND AND FOG. The movies never seem to do a book justice, so I must also check out the movie once I've finished the book. Thanks for the input.Do you remember the author's name?
 |  |
Excuse the misspelling of your name. I just don't type too well anymore, Martha.
 |  |
Mamacita, the author of House of Sand and Fog is Andre Dubus III
 |  |
Um... eww.

Yuck. Might be cow or pig or even dog. Rather see the pictures of the live variety.

Thanks bert!

Maen - warm for Canberra - +5C. Suzanne, haven't been in your situation, but wish you strength to move through each day using all the advice from the wise folks of this site.
 |  |
Suzanne, I also have not been in your situation, but have friends that have and they just seem to keep real busy, with friends, family, at home, where ever. Just remember this too will pass, and life will get back to some semblance of order. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Mamacita, I too More...

Hi Suzanne
Have 'met' with you in the chatroom before and sorry to know that things are difficult (to say the least) right now. Hang on in there girlfriend and be kind to yourself. So many people around the world are thinking of you and wishing you the best. Hope it helps.

Can someone from the American South or from Southeast Asia confirm or deny that today's photo is of crayfish, a kind of freshwater shrimp? Commonly called crawdads, that's what they look like to me! Supposed to be delicious, but being a Yankee Yank, I haven't tried them.
 |  |
Suzanne from Seattle, believe with all your heart that things happen for a reason. It happened to me years ago--I ended up marrying the most perfect soulmate there could be. The bonus: my now grown children still call their step-dad with their problems/questions instead of their dad. They loved More...

Bar-B-Q Shrimp?

i'm from south east mississippi and i HATE crawdads. not good at all...we have them next to our pool even.

KIM FROM FL: Please continue to drop in and post once you go back to work. You are definitely one-of-a kind, and the site will be less interesting when you're not here!

NAL: Check your mom's dresser drawers for the ring. Whenever I have left jewelry on the dresser, and it has disappeared, I usually find that it has fallen into a drawer.

So, DANIELLE, is that what we have in the picture??
 |  |
The picture looks like prawns (shrimp) on skewer sticks to me. Added to that the christmas decorations, I'd say an Aussie christmas lunch!
 |  |
SUZANNE FROM SEATTLE: I am sending out lots of good thoughts to you. Stay busy, chat with your friends, and take some walks around that beautiful city in which you live. And don't forget to spend some quality time with your son ... he is going to be greatly affected by the changes, too. XOXO
