Never happy this crowd, are they? I get moaned at for providing riddles that are easy peasy, and when I give a dificult one for the Mensa ones in here, I get moaned at. Just no pleasing you, is there? Anyway, in just two weeks I shall be on my hols and you can all moan away all you like to the above person!

25 things you should have learned by the time you have reached middle age....

1. If you're too open-minded, your brains will fall out.
2. Age is a very high price to pay for maturity.
3. Going to church doesn't make you a Christian, any more than standing in a garage makes you a More...

Oh Jane! Now I don't feel so bad about my "mental lapses". I recently had to start wearing glasses. So of course one day I'm looking all over for them when.. (you can guess where this is going)hubby walks in and says, "you mean the ones on top of your head?"

Shannon - I REALLY understand that.
Fi - I am not complaining, just not sure how I am going to get your riddle done. Keep 'em coming.

Hazel I'm hoping you did some riding for me! My bike has been shooting me looks of neglect the last few weeks. Fiona, I actually like the toughies, but all those funny names and a little too much imbibing last night, has me a little fuzzy this morning

Morning Jamie, not envying your weather today. So does aggieland refer to a specific area in Texas? We have friends in 'hill country', Plano and Austin.

Cucumbers...
1. Cucumbers contain most of the vitamins you need every day, just one cucumber contains Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium and Zinc.

12. Looking for a 'green' way to clean your faucets, sinks or stainless steel? Take a slice of cucumber and rub it on the surface you want to clean, not only will it remove years of tarnish and bring back the shine, but is won't leave streaks and won't harm you fingers or fingernails while you More...

Jamie, the puzzle is rather long, but I can attest to the fact that it is doable! Had to sharpen my pencil several times, though....

Definitely like #6 Daplap!! Double

So where's your answer then batty???

Don't you just want to whack her with a big racket sometimes and splatch her in her own guano. You've guessed it, she gets today's fat cigar.

Speaking of moaners....when you send Fiona an answer to today's puzzle, be SURE to put everything in the correct order. She can't seem to read it easily enough if you don't.....

Shannon - I live in College Station (your Austin friends would know that for sure!) - 4 hours south of Plano, 2 hours NE of Austin, 2 hours north of Houston.
Fi - if the answer I sent is wrong, just shoot me.
06/Jul/10 3:36 AM
 |  |

Kathy - I hope she wanted it in order by people, because I am NOT going back to change it. I am not sure if there was an "easy" way to get the answer - I just used brute force and some elimination to get started.
06/Jul/10 3:37 AM
 |  |

I ordered it by people, too, Jamie. She moaned.
06/Jul/10 3:44 AM

I don't know what Fiona is fussing about, Kathy. Heaven knows we pay her a big enough salary for her puzzles.
06/Jul/10 3:48 AM

I, too, sent it in by people, which is the only logical way to do it, in my opinion.

Dagnabbit! I keep getting sidetracked here. I came to use the computer to do a condo search for rentals in Florida, and here I am back in Australia!
06/Jul/10 3:52 AM

Well, I didn't start the puzzle well by having news and review as two separate sections and wondered why I was off...sigh.
So to send in answers, it doesn't seem like we send it to "your page", do we use the private message on "your page"? Thanks for the info Jamie.
06/Jul/10 3:55 AM
 |  |

Send it to her in a "private message" on her page, Shannon. Complain to her all you want, she loves it!
06/Jul/10 4:25 AM

Shannon - great to see you partaking in the "other" puzzles that Fi (and Kathy when Fi is busy making angel things or traveling the globe) provides us with.
I also began with news and review split up - didn't count things too well.
Fi - did I see you were going to be in California, or did I mix up names? If so, are you going anywhere else?
06/Jul/10 4:34 AM
 |  |

Thanks. I'm thinking she's tired of all that burgundy & bordeaux and could use a good dose of American 'whine'.
06/Jul/10 4:38 AM
 |  |

Jamie, what do you mean 'are you going anywhere else??????' Have you seen that CA is a mere 13 hours trip from Paris (and we don't live in Paris!), and that from north to south is just a few hundred or so K???? No, we're not going anywhere else, we're not superhuman, just human!
06/Jul/10 4:41 AM

Well, that's debatable.....

Continuing with the laundry! Wash, check the computer. Dry, check the computer. Fold, check the computer. Busy, busy, busy!

No, thanks Shannon, I love your country; you know how to fry bacon, where to put the dog in hot, and steaks are something else, but your wine is eeek! However you do import very good wine from Oz and NZ which is a relief as otherwise we wouldn't visit for three weeks at a time - withdrawal symptoms More...

Now, Fi - I live in Texas - look at the distance across (or up and down) my state.
Jeanie and I drove over 2700 miles (about 4500 km) in just over a week last month.
NEXT TIME - plan to come to Texas - not just the east or west coast! I will try to schedule a trip to your part of the globe some day.
06/Jul/10 4:49 AM

Fi - have you ever seen caramel apples - hot just the slices with caramel sauce, the whole apple dipped in it, the nuts and other.
I do buy my wife a good bit of Australian wine.
06/Jul/10 4:50 AM
 |  |

Should have been "then" nuts and other stuff.
06/Jul/10 4:51 AM

Geez, Jamie! Don't ask her to go to Texas in August!! Of course, if she drank enough wine, she might not notice she was melting......
06/Jul/10 4:52 AM
 |  |

I would love to go to Texas but only to see Southfork!! Well actually I have been to Houston, many moons ago, many many moons ago... Now the 'Dallas' crowd come to France for a country music festival down the road from here, but I've never been. So when should I put the wine in the cooler Jamie???
06/Jul/10 4:59 AM

or does that depend on that daft dog of yours? I seem to remember you missed the Florida get-together last year because of some dog?

Jamie, I must be in Texas of the North. 40 C (104 F) right now in Ottawa. Aren't you sorry you missed out Keith and Lynne!
