Live and learn. This is so excellent, learning a new word ("marram") that I can apply. I only knew the grass that grows along the beach of Lake Michigan as "beach grass." I looked it up and got this from Wikipedia:

A. breviligulata - American Marram Grass or American Beachgrass. Native to coasts of eastern North America, including the shores of the Great Lakes.

Well Kathy, yonk was a good find, but it is British slang and it has mulitple meaning, a few of which I wouldn't post on this site.

When I first signed up I used “WA” but had to change it to Washington because it evidently also means West Australia. Now I can’t log in unless I go to my e-mail, click on that link which then welcomes me as a new member every time. How can I fix this?? Thyra

Thyra, I've stymied myself a few times, too, by changing names or locations. Based on my experience I think you can probably log in if you type the words exactly as they are appearing on screen, including capital letters and spaces. In your case it would be:

I haven't seen Avatar. Probably won't unless someone else in the family wants to, and then we'll get the dvd on netflix or free from the library interloan, if it's available.

Hello everyone, hmm loopy on a health kick eating his parsley. Greg, Ian and Anne are off travelling in their motorhome they left just after Christmas. Fiona I didn't think "solos" was a proper word and couldn't think of anything else to use, the grass thing got me as well.
