Average Aussie..............

A 2007 study found that the average Australian walks about 900 miles a year.

Another study found that Australians drink an average of 22 gallons of beer a
year.

That means, on average, Australians get about 41 miles per gallon.'

Bloody good value that!

I'm up in time for my 1 hour drive ti the Hospital, but wanted to give GannieMo a huge for passing on the message from Mamacita. She sounds like she's coping as well as can be expected. I'd like to send a big hug to her for more support.

Have to go and collect my son.
The sleep over has had to be cancelled.
We just got a call from the Dad that his wife's mother has just passed away.
She lives in Queensland so they are now having to pack up and drive up there.

Yes Martha, very hard to lose ones Mum.
I was talking to mine on the phone, I was in Port Macquarie, she was in Geelong, in Victoria, and she died.
I dialled 000 but the operator said i cannot help you, she is interstate and hung up !!!
So I had to ring information, get the number of the More...

Elise: By this -
"She lives in Queensland so they are now having to pack up and drive up there."
-do you mean load the car up with 6-packs?

Sorry about the demise, But. It is always sad when a relative dies. They are close to being a part of you.
09/Jul/08 9:27 PM

Elise, that is a terrible thing to have happened while you were on the phone with your Mum. How ever did you cope, being so far away?
09/Jul/08 10:08 PM

That is exactly what I'm wondering as well Elise...
How awful for you.

No walk today, as we are having storms. Might try and get to the mall so I can walk.

Elise, you were as close as being there because you were talking to each other when she died so your mum didn't die alone. It sound rather macabre but think about it, her last moments were with you.

I'm in a sad mood because in an hour or two, I shall be leaving and . . . . That song "I'm leaving on a jet plane" is in my head as I watch my family here go about their daily business. Kind of chokes you up. Excuse me I must go to smother my grandson with kisses!
