9:39 is slow but it's a fun 10 minutes of relief from first graders. one more week with them. my pic was a koala - nice job! my sister said they smell like the euc leaves they eat, and they scratch. needles to say, we don't handle them here at the sandiegozoo. nice to hear from newbies and around the world! 7:30 p.m. is my favorite time to be on!

OK all you aussies- I want to confirm or dispel an urban myth. Rumour has it that toilet bowl water swirls in the opposite direction down under. Is it true? I've always wanted to know. Go flush right now and let me know if it is clockwise or counterclockwise, and I'll do the same

OK, mine went counterclockwise...wonder if it has anything to do with the toilet brand? Any other Northern Hemisphere folks want to log in your results?

Alright, then explain Amber's post that hers went clockwise in Michigan. I personally think it is the brand, and how the water jets out of the top of the bowl. Close inspection ( not too close) shows it shooting out diagonally in a counterclockwise direction.

Hi I agree with Geoff but I always thought you should check the bathwater going down the drain when the water is let out. Suspect the fact that the toilets aren't conistent may be because of uneven pressure from the flush? (thats a guess though)

Yup, I'm in Michigan--and agree with Suzanne, the toilet seems to have the water squirting out in the direction it goes down--to go into this further the tub does drain counter clockwise...in the same bathroom as the clockwise toilet (Iflushed it again to make sure) very strange. Thanks DJG for telling us what LMK means :)

Hi Amber, maybe we need a larger sample size of loos and tubs to prove or disprove the physicists. Will have to call on northern hemisphere for help. Sorry we in OZ can do no more as half of the country is in drought and who knows we may lose our drinking water supply if we were all to flush at once! Edith have been to Vietnam - great country great people. Enjoy!

Re: water in baths/basins etc. In the southern hemisphere the water goes down anti-clockwise & the northern hemisphere it goes down clockwise. It quite intrigued me when in Europe to watch it go down the hand basin.
