It might be a little difficult to stay shy and reserved around here, Hazel. Be strong.
I am off to play cards...

Gannie and Kathy - funny story about the blue haired little old ladies. I was at a party one time and a friend poked me in the side and told me to get a gander at the woman across the room with the BLUE hair (it was far bluer than you usually saw). I laughed and asked if she would like to meet the More...

I have been tagged so will try to provide the five!
1. I wear a kilt and have been known to show (I was probably younger then).
2. Whilst dragged up in Oxford, England living in Canberra in the mighty land of Oz is brilliant.
3. We love to get away from it all with the three kids (not so More...

Thanks for the tag Hazel - now I have to stop and think!

1. Can't stand any cruelty to animals - makes me boil. (Love my rescued dogs)
2. Couldn't live in suburbia any more after having just under 30 acres and beautiful lakes. Trouble is don't appreciate it most of the time.
3. More...

I'm late responding to my tag (from Bean) because:

1) I've just been on my first ever Girl Guide Camp (as a parent helper).
2) I can still do cart-wheels.
3) I love my coffee.
4) I still miss Schultz (a lot) but won't be getting another dog until I can be sure I won't be expecting More...

Oh, no, just read that the Red Wings were edged out by the Penguins in the seventh game of the Stanley Cup. That had to be a heart breaker. Wait 'til next year!

Hi All,

Got tagged by Aimee from Pittsburgh, so here goes:

1. I love jazz
2. I love rain
3. I love coffee (and am a bit of a coffee snob - it has to be "just so")
4. The best couple of hours I could have would be with 1, 2, &3, in a quiet house, followed by More...

Kate... instead of worrying about comparing another dog to Schultz, why don't you consider a rescue dog? One that has some problems and desperately needs a loving home like yours.

Schultz was a rescue dog in the sense that he walked into our lives as an abandoned puppy on December 23rd 1994.

Given we are a household of workers with a child whose extra-curricular activities are increasing, I doubt we could give that time (as well as that love) to a really needy dog. It would be unfair.

Our next dog will be a rescue dog. Just not yet.

Yay! The game is taking off (I was wondering there, for a bit.) Of course, this is a free-for-all, but do try to tag at least one person who you don't know that well or who might not be a regular poster. And there are quite a few regulars who haven't been tagged yet, so don't ignore them, either. (And remember to send a personal message or put a note on tagees' pages so they know.)

Kate (Ku-ring-gai)... your heart is definitely in the right place. I foster Rescues, and give some unplaceable ones permanent homes here. I had no idea that Schultz was a Rescue. It just goes to show you what great dogs you can find as Rescues.

All the talk about hair colour, I started going grey when I was 15yrs [runs in the family] and no matter what hair dye I used it wouldn't cover the grey even had it tinted at the hairdressers still no good so in the end went blonde so that the grey blended in now I'm just natural pearl grey.LOL

GMo: I had a similar experience to you with a spiked fence once. I had to elicit help from passers-by as I was hanging from the spikes upside-down.
Ian: You did well to exactly pick up that 2 hour gap. Are you keeping a record of the events?

Can't really help saylz. My favourite town in Italy is Florence. I could spend weeks there but not in August. Made that mistake on a camping holiday in the 1970's never again. I thought I could handle hot but that was HOT
