Marilyn from Johannesburg, South Africa.
Marilyn ... I would love to visit South Africa sometime, I have heard it is very beautiful. Our first trip has to be to Italy since my wife is of Italian decent.
Yes, we winter in Southwest Arizona where the winter temps are around 65 to 70F (18-21C) and the sun shines 90% of the time. We are very fortunate to be able to live this lifestyle.

Ah, another dog pic.
Guess I need to send in more turtle photos.
I am assuming the date will stay six hours ahead until Gath moves the site to the new server/ISP. Till then, my avatar will remain a red "X"

Good Sunday Maen, all!

Madby: Rocky Road looks wonderful--I'm sneaking a little corner off for a taste...

Dave/OR/AZ: the sand animation was incredible! Thank you for sharing. Reminds me of a street artist we saw in NYC last year--a few (seemingly) strokes and in a manner of minutes, a picture unfolded before our eyes!

SHOULD CHILDREN WITNESS CHILDBIRTH?

Due to a power outage, only one paramedic responded to the call. The house was very dark so the paramedic asked Kathleen, a 3-year-old girl to hold a flashlight high over her mommy so he could see while he helped deliver the baby.

Very diligently, More...

Dave, my grandparents used to summer in WI and winter in Alabama. Going to see them one year (I believe I was 8 or 9) is the only time I have swam in the surf. Someday.......

I have been trying to stay away from this site for the past few days, with a couple of comments here and there. Have I missed anything important? Last I heard, still not on the new server? And I still have no smilies or avatars so should I be submitting new ones yet?

Angie/Wisconsin - Gath has asked that no smilies or Avatars be submitted until he switches over to the new server. He left a message on yesterday's page.

Forty-five high school students from N.S.W., Australia, are touring Southern California for three weeks. Last week, they spent a day shadowing their counterparts at a local high school. I got a chuckle out of this response given during an interview when asked about cultural differences: "The More...

I am really looking forward to watching the Australian Open (tennis) the next two weeks. Any insider information (i.e., gossip) from the locals will be much appreciated!

My dear husband is mowing the lawn this afternoon. I know that is unremarkable to you in Australia right now, but it's the middle of winter here. He got it 2/3 mowed late last fall when it snowed and has been wanting to finish the job all this time. It is 43 degrees F and snow is expected this evening. Our neighbors probably think he's gone looney!

Just to let you all know that I think I caught the same bug as this site and I have put myself in quarantine. I am coming to the end of day three and the breathing is a little easier, in between a really hacking cough my throat now swallows slightly more solid food. I look like a Rudolf who got More...

Sure have missed being around the last several days. Sounds like things are still in a state of flux - don't have time to go back and check old posts.
Thanks to the many that left notes on my page, I will hopefully respond when I have time and an arm that feels better.

Schultz Philosophy

Jamie, take it easy with that shoulder. When you start PT, do ALL the exercises you are asked to do at home. It will make a big difference in the speed of your recovery. No slacking! My husband had the same surgery last year, so I speak from experience!

Judy/San Diego - The hot and cold taps are on different sides, and there are some strange (to Aussies) ways of turning them on.... Don't know if that's what they meant. Also, light switches are 'upside down' - what is on in Oz is off in US
